Under most state law (but not NYS), that IS rape. Whether it's fingers, a penis, a cigar, a dildo, a bottle, or whatever -- if the person did not consent to be penetrated, it is rape. I used the word "person" deliberately. The same is true for a male. If some bullies threw you face down and insert a broomstick into your anus, that would be rape because you were 1) penetrated, and 2) you did not consent.
