I have a tendency to believe that as well. But then I think back on Bill Clinton. Despite his profaning the WH with his adultery, millions of (D)s continued to support him, because his policies and actions as a whole were good for the country, they believed. That doesn't make *them* adulterers too. I voted for him the first time but could not in good conscience do it the 2nd time because of his affair. Does this make me somehow superior to all the Trumpanzees who continue to support that pig despite his 101 failures as an ethical human being, including being a racist swine? I don't think so. It just leaves me unable to understand how they can overlook his sins because the Dow is up.
The lady's looks are, surely, not relevant to a discussion of accepting the referee's decision, though they certainly do reveal some extraordinary Nazis amongst Americans. She looks okay to me, but when I watch tennis I am not looking for a girlfriend. I'm married and pretty antique, alas!

I have more respect for someone who admits that Trump is a racist, but yet they still support him because they like his economic policies and so on. The ones who flat out deny that he is a racist are suspect, to me. Either they don't want to admit it publicly for fear of being seen as racist by their approval, or they just don't see it because *they* really are racist too.

Put aside the fact that screaming "racist" about anyone not fitting neatly into the PC/Dem shoe box is the left's mantra -
amplified hate by the fake news networks like CNN ("victory for racists" or some such being the classic example)

Independents, who view Trump slightly more negatively than positively overall, have similar view on whether he is a racist: 50% say he is, 44% say he is not.
The "racist" numbers are not a direct facsimile of Trump's overall approval numbers, of course. More people feel unfavorably about Trump's job performance (55%) than say he is a racist (49%). But it's close.

Now see, this is exactly what I meant in my post to Evince. Those who cannot see his pattern of racist actions and statements over the years are either willfully blind, or they don't see them as racist because they are racists too.

Talking about immigration from Haiti and African countries, Trump reportedly asked, "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" He reportedly suggested that America should allow more people from countries like Norway instead. The implication is clear: The people coming from predominantly black countries are bad, while the people coming from predominantly white countries are good.

Well I am, and I think she's pretty damn good looking. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but honestly I think you're just falling into the common cognitive fallacy whereby celebrities are held to a much much higher standard of beauty due to their being largely unattainable. She might not be playboy cover model material, but if she came up to you in the bar I have little doubt you'd jump at the opportunity.
Not that looks alone are as relevant as you and others see it, especially pertaining to this discussion in particular....but it had to be said.

BAC, you have argued before the behavior/actions of the person in office doesnt matter. It's all about policy.
You told me you like women better than me because you vote Democratic, that it doesn't matter how we treat women in our lives. Voting Democratic is more important.
So it stands to reason if someome likes Trump's tax policy or judges then it doesn't matter if Trump is a racist or anything else because as you said, policy trumps all (no pun intended). So one can dislike his racial views but support his policy in your scenario.

As one who very frequently denies the importance of particular persons in elections etc, I find it odd that when it comes to Trump, or other very contemptible people, anyone could think their total personal inadequacies irrelevant. Clearly the poor dab is such a personal shambles that he doesn't (and can't ever) have a coherent policy?
