'Non-belief' is itself a belief.
So-called "non-belief"...IS ITSELF A "BELIEF."

Fuck yourself eman. Leave immediately before you ruin yet another forum.
So dumb. Thinking hooey and bullshit is on the same footing as reason and science. So sad.
A place away from the lights. I call that home. I live in the middle of nowhere and often take out my telescope to view the skies, though my favorites are Jupiter and Mars... A good telescope can give you an incredible view of Jupiter.
Mars just skittered out of sight to the west.
It's leaving opposition (?) from it's closest approach (opposition and perihelion) in July 2018
when it was a fat red bastard hanging over the sky most of the night.
How wonderful to live under a dark sky away from the lights. I got city lights, but I got a dark place
where the roof next door block the streetlight. I'm gonna go look at Orion and then shut it down. Keep looking up
That's not a "revelation" it is an opinion. While he and I generally agree on this one, it really isn't a revelation and it wasn't "from the afterlife". Unless this is going to be me "from the afterlife" once I die too...
No, it is based on faith. It can be based on nothing else.
The Theory of the Big Bang is not a theory of science. It is a nonscientific theory, and a religion. Science has no theories about past unobserved events. They are not falsifiable. A religion is an initial circular argument with arguments extending from it.
There’s good evidence for the BB.
Nonsense about faith being detached from reason and logic.
To me, it's too much of an escape clause. The whole "god just always was - we don't need a cause" thing. That MAY be, but there has to be some sort of logic to it. We can't demand explanation for the universe, and then immediately abandon it when it comes to god.
LOL
Hawking jumped the shark years ago with his AI warnings. He has no way of knowing what the answer is anyway. The best any of us can say is we don't know. To believe a universe always existed before time began at the moment of the big bang requires assumptions not unlike a belief in god.
Yeah...there is decent evidence for the Big Bang...although it is possible that one day science will discard it completely. It happens!
Under any circumstances...the Big Bang says nothing about whether or not gods exist.
Anyone who sees a blind guess as coming from reason and logic...simply does not understand reason or logic.
Neither play a significant role in a blind guess.
I have no use for blind faith, Frankie lol.
And of course, science provides provisional knowledge. But you have to work with what you have; and presently, I see no reason to not accept the BB theory.
I see no reason to accept the BB theory. How could it have created life as we know it?

The BB is a theory that attempts to account for cosmological origins and doesn’t say anything about the origin of life.
Actually, the BB assumes a singularly that inexplicably popped into existence and then expanded into what we know as the present universe. The cosmological red shift is good evidence that the universe is expanding. I see no good reason to reject it.

I am sure you meant "singularity."
Right?
Life had to come from somewhere, didn't it?
a very ignorant one......- dandy -
Take it up with the doctor that asserted it. I didn't endorse the idea. I presented it as an informed opinion. BUT !! If your PhD trumps his, please inform us of the details.
I'm a scientist.
