The rhetoric from the right since the shooting has really been an eye opener.

Who still has principles? Who still can view an incident like this without immediately going into their partisan corner and playing defense?

The utter hypocrisy when it come to Pretti - after all of the outrage about Babbitt - is really staggering. It's stark, and obvious.

Pretti carrying a gun and then inserting himself in the middle of a law enforcement operation is what led to him getting shot. I CC all the time. I would NEVER get in the middle of a police operation. And I would NEVER confront a police officer while armed. I have been stopped in my car while armed. The first thing I do is show my hands and ask if I can get my ID for him. Cops have always been fine when I do that.

You have to ask yourself why Pretti was carrying while he was protesting and obstructing the police. Was he carrying to defend himself from the violent illegals he saw himself as defending. Doubtful. Was he carrying a to potentially use against ICE. Possibly. He parents say he did not normally carry a gun.

Put yourself in ICE's position . You have an angry guy screaming profanities and obstructing justice. The guy is resting arrest. YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE SEEN HIM BEING DISARMED. You see him reach back to his holster and see a dark object in his hand you see an empty holster. You have a split second to defend your life and those of others.

You have hind sight the agent only had a fraction of a second in real time. Walz and Frey encouraged a situation where this kind of thing happened. They should have let ICE arrest VIOLENT CRIMINALS in the jails instead they forced ICE to do it on the street then they called them Gestapo for enforcing immigration law. Then they send a crowd of inflamed people into the street to follow and harass ICE. Walz and Frey were playing politics with peoples lives.

Sure but you are a coward and anti America.

Being American, in large part, is what used to be called by Conservatives, having a healthy suspicion of big gov't and HOLDING it to account if you suspect abuses. Being a witness. Having your 2A right to defend yourself against anyone including big gov't.

You see Pretti DOING NOTHING but being a witness to what he perceived as big gov't abuse and standing across the road and filming while being armed, as him being wrong and you have NOT ONE THING BAD to say about the law enforcement who crossed the street to assault him when he had done nothing wrong.

The story that he had pulled a gun, and was about to shoot ICE agents before being killed is not possible. Clearly he did not have a gun when killed, and was not about to kill anyone. There is no possible universe where this was self defense.

It could still be mistaken self defense. That would be a bad shoot, but at least not a felony. Mistaken self defense is a positive defense, so it must be presented to be considered. The killers need to convince the jury that in their mind they thought he was a threat, even though he was not a threat.

And there lies the problem. They claimed he was a "domestic terrorist" who had pulled a gun on them, even after they knew for sure that he had not. They destroyed the footage he took of the incident. And most important they lied, repeatedly. So they have to convince a jury that while they have said a lot of lies about the incident, they are telling the truth about one part of it.

At first it seems kind of believable, that they mistook a cell phone for a gun... But then you realize they were focused on that cell phone from the beginning. They wanted to take that cell phone away from Pretti, because it was what he was using to film their crimes. That cell phone was the reason he was beating Pretti. They knew it was a cell phone, and wanted to take it away. When they killed him, they took the cell phone and destroyed it. That is destroying the evidence.

So a bad shoot, and probably murder.

Agreed on an eye-opener. It proves all the MAGAts who claimed to support the Constitution, were against an all-powerful federal government, and supported States Rights were really liars, traitors and domestic enemies of the Constitution.

While some JPP MAGAts are simply dumbass nutjobs like Sybil, people like @Stone, @T. A. Gardner, @Earl, @SmarterthanYou, @Lionfish, and @RB 60 are true MAGA-supporting White Nationalists and, therefore, domestic enemies of the Constitution.
