jan 2 2018 Hoda Kotb made her official debut as a co-anchor for NBC's "TODAY" this Tuesday. Kotb, 53, sat alongside Savannah Guthrie, who has co-anchored the show since 2012, during the first two hours of the morning news show.

They are the first all-woman pair to anchor the NBC news program. However, they are not the first all-female morning show duo: ABC News' Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts co-anchored from 2006-2009, according to Today.com.

In an email announcing Kotb's new role, NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack stated that Kotb has "seamlessly stepped" into the co-anchor position, which she filled temporarily after Matt Lauer was fired in November amid accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior.

There is nothing wrong with the way she looks, and she is obviously qualified, experienced, and capable of doing the job.

White males who are inferior and mediocre - like you - are going to have to get used to the fact that more capable and qualified women and people of color are going to be taking jobs that used to be allotted, held, and reserved for mediocre and inferior white men on the basis of privilege.

Superior, capable, and competent men with white skin have nothing to worry about. Competence and capability will always be rewarded in this world, particularly in capitalist societies.

But, I can understand why mediocre white men get freaked out by the loss of their privilege. Remember, our parents and/or teachers always emphasized education and self-improvement....you should have listened and heeded their advice!

The problem comes in when you use certain characteristics as qualifications when they aren't anything but characteristics. Being a woman or a person of color doesn't make one qualified. You should have learned that with the social experiment known as Obama.

As anyone who has been married or lived with a partner probably knows you don't always have control over the remote. My wife likes to watch the Today Show each morning so I guess I will be seeing Hoda everyday. And while I'm pretty sure she's a Democrat I will say I do like Savannah Guthrie. I think she does a good job.
