I attribute it to the standard media rush to be first to report. For all we know, there were multiple people in the melee, included a transwoman. When the reporters showed up, the transwoman faded not wanting to be interviewed. I'd rather wait a few days for the police to sort it out. They'll interview everyone, even those who don't want to be publicly known.

I like my privacy and wouldn't want to be in the news either.

FWIW, I'm surprised the shooter left alive. Remember the Southwest passengers who killed the nutjob trying to get into the cockpit?

Yeah it makes sense that a few would attempt to help in stopping the shooter. It's hard to tell who's who. Naturally, as you have stated, some do not want to be known.

It doesn't mesh with reality. Claiming there is no difference in strength or size between men and women is a "feel good" virtue signaling fantasy.
