On a party line vote. That was the lamest, dumbest impeachment EVER! Even the Republicans got a few crossover votes in their failed attempt to impeach Clinton. Stalin held better show trials than the Democrats. The poster boy for that idiocy was googly eyes Adam Shit the liar from California.

What "trial"? When you have a shithead for Pres telling everyone not to testify, or hand over records, and a willing audience of low IQ useful idiots accepting his lies, then a Senate of fools who could care less about justice, and to you in your delusional state, think that was a "trial".

Even before the House Judiciary Committee voted on articles of impeachment against Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell virtually guaranteed that the president would be acquitted.

"We all know how it's going to end," McConnell told Fox News on December 12. "There is no chance the president is going to be removed from office." McConnell also said he'd be working in "total coordination" with the White House and Trump's legal team.



In the days that followed, McConnell and other Republicans, such as Sen. Lindsey Graham, made clear that they would not uphold the oaths of impartiality taken by senators at the start of the trial.

Graham said he will do "everything" he could to make the trial "die quickly."

"I'm not an impartial juror. This is a political process," McConnell later said.

The first Senate impeachment trial in US history without witnesses

In an unprecedented move, Republicans also made sure that no witnesses were called in the trial. All 15 Senate impeachment trials prior to Trump's included witnesses, including those for the other two impeached presidents, Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.

The motion to call witnesses was rejected by Republicans last Friday in a 51 to 49 vote even as new evidence against Trump emerged in news reports, including from the unpublished manuscript of former national security adviser John Bolton, who was viewed by Democrats as a potentially vital witness.

Bolton's forthcoming book raised the possibility that the White House counsel, Pat Cipollone, the lead attorney on Trump's defense team, was also a witness to the allegations against the president; a conflict of interest that would typically preclude a person's involvement as an attorney. But Republicans were apparently unmoved by these revelations.

Unlike the GOP, a strong majority of Americans wanted witnesses called."

You missed my entire point. Impeachment is a political process. Successful impeachments involve both parties and enjoy increasing levels of support as the process proceeds forward. Smart politicians don't proceed with impeachment until they have that sort of backing. Idiot politicians do bulldozer ahead with the process.

The latter is what happened here. The Democrats had ZERO Republican support in the House for impeachment. It doesn't matter the reason, that is a fact. Without any Republican support in the House, the best they could hope for was a party-line vote. They knew the Republican controlled Senate would acquit the President. So, it was nothing but a futile exercise in wasting effort and time on something that accomplished exactly NOTHING!

The whole thing stank of two-week old warm milk left in the sunshine. It only occurred because the Democrats were unsatisfied with Mueller not pressing charges. It was sort of Well, our attempt to indict Trump using a special prosecutor failed miserably, what else do we have to get him? Ah! Impeachment! It was a fool's errand led by two of the biggest fools in the House, Schiff and Nadler. Like Tweddledee and Tweddledum, they led a sham of a mockery of a show trial in their committees where anyone with any sort of clue at all knew full well it was going through the motions to a foregone and already decided conclusion.

The whole thing was nothing but a distraction and waste of time.

You're using the same dull, and inane, argument that the Repugnant ones you support used at the time of the impeachment. It mattered not to them that trump had committed crimes, just as it matters not to you, he was their boy, and that was all that mattered. The same was true of the Democrats in the impeachment of Clinton although they had a stronger argument. And the lack of concern that the right has shown for the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and morality, is what will get Biden elected on the third. Hopefully the Democrats will show some balls then, and do what they will not do now, and that is to stop the Repugnant ones before they destroy the country.

As to Qanon, trump has said in the past that he appreciates their support. Now, for such a "stable genius" as he claims to be one would think he would find out just who it is that supports him.
