Trump’s 3% Growth Feat in 2018 Undone by Annual Data Revision


Donald Trump failed to achieve his much-ballyhooed 3% target for economic growth in 2018 after all.

Updated government figures show that gross domestic product expanded 2.5% on a fourth-quarter-over-fourth-quarter basis last year. That compares with a previous estimate of 3% and an upwardly revised 2.8% in 2017, the first year of Trump’s presidency.

Behind the 2018 markdown: Slower growth of business investment and exports, along with a greater output in the fourth quarter of 2017 that made the comparison less favorable.

So far, Trump has yet to top Obama's best annual GDP growth (2.88% in 2015) or his best quarterly GDP growth (5.1% in Q2 2014).

So not only is Trump a failure at the economy, but he also welcomed and encouraged Russian election interference and then lied about it.

Yes, of course!

Obama came into office amidst the worst recession in 80 years, and rescued the economy, recovered all the lost jobs, grew wages, and reduced the deficit.

Conservatives have done the opposite of that; they caused the worst recession in 80 years, refused to do anything to help rescue the economy, didn't create a single job, opposed wage increases, and increased the deficit.

Conservatism is a cult. It's not a valid belief system anymore.

They are trying to create the second worse recession in 80 years if they keep this up. Its funny, when will the rich realize short term sugar from tax cuts hurts them in the end.

They want to collapse the economy, create massive budget deficits, and rile up their religious fundamentalist base so they can usher in Gilead.
