Well, it sure as hell would have helped immensely. Kinda like quarantining the U.S. from the world. But, Biden didn't think that banning world travel would have helped back then...
But since "banning all travel...will not stop it," he now want's every American to ban travel within the US, and he/they want families to stay home and not celebrate Thanksgiving
together. And with Christmas coming, will he want to cancel Christmas? And then no New Years fireworks displays? Maybe he wants to have "drive in" Christmas and New Years celebrations...

The fact that some smart bureacrats needed Trump to sign a paper authorising it, and stuck paper and pen in front of him, does nothing to chance the fact Trump is a moron.

Actually, not immediately. Those that died from trump's incompetence will still be dead. Fighting a virus is mostly about slowing the spread enough that it dies out, so there will still be a lot of people dying for the rest of January and February. It has taken a year to get into this mess, so it might take several years to get out of it.

Getting rid of the arsonist does not put out the fire, nor rebuild the house. Rebuilding the house takes time.

Republicans have really become allergic to the very idea of hard work. They want all their solutions easy. In the real world, you need hard work to build something.

Just sound, consistent leadership. Constant emphasis on the things that work: washing hands, wearing masks, distancing. Most likely a national testing program.

Development on all the vaccines that are starting to show promise right now started before trump announced "Operation Kick All Warp Speed Super Smart and Cool." They all got lots of cooperation from the technical people in government, until trump demanded it all go through the white house. That is when things started falling apart.

A bunch of political appointees creationists are going to be no help to real scientists.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for some kind of disaster under Biden.

2021 actually promises to be an outstanding year. I'm hearing more & more optimistic timeframes from the healthcare & scientific community - I'd bet that by the end of '21, we are back to living fairly regular lives, and the economy is roaring.

I want the damn virus gone as bad as anyone.

Biden isn’t going to do anything that hasn’t already been done here or somewhere else, so I have very little optimism about ‘national testing strategies’ and similar buzz words.

This side of herd immunity; vaccine facilitated herd immunity or if we get lucky and the thing mutates into a less virulent form.

Over 100,000 businesses have closed. There will not be a return to anything. We have a new and smaller norm. The people will not have money to crank up businesses. Millions are without jobs. It will take time to build back up.

For some reason, herd immunity is not happening. That means we have to work hard, and wipe out this disease.

trump's "answer" was always to hope for an easy solution. Biden's answer is to hope for an easy solution, but work hard for a hard solution if the easy solution does not happen.

the reason is the extreme infectious nature of COVID.
It has to run it's course, or get the vaccine, which also contributes to herd immunity
. a virus is a virus, they all have the same effects on a body, and the epidemiology is the same as any virus
