The National Capital Planning Commission, the agency tasked with approving construction on federal property in the Washington region, went ahead with the vote because U.S. District Judge Richard Leon's ruling on Tuesday affects construction activities, not the planning process, commission spokesperson Stephen Staudigl said.

2. It's an approval to complete planning by a board appointed by Trump. Under an existing court order the thing can't be built.

3. Are all Trumpers tasteless as Trump is or when Trump speaks does their own judgment just wash away? Yes to both, it seems.

Correct the US is a country of rule of law, set by Congress. Neither Judges nor a POTUS gets to act as sole arbiter of right or wrong, legal or illegal, and that is dictated by Congress.

So when Trump defies or ignores Congress or the law, as he is doing here, the rightful check and balance of Courts must kick in. Just as when Judges defy the law the check and balance comes from the Doj (executive). And if Congress is defying the law it is also the DoJ (executive) that will check them.

No single branch can or should be able to act like a dictator so it is always good to see the system work, as it is here.

Anything but minor construction is REQUIRED to go thru Congress and bodies they have put in place to review and authorize them.

Each POTUS is a guest in the WHite House and not an owner and they do not have the power to unilaterally act to change, in major ways, a property they have no ownership of.
