EU deplores UK 'voting obstacles' in May European elections

The EU Commission has complained to the UK government over obstacles that prevented many EU citizens from voting in the UK in the European elections.

There was much anger among UK-resident voters from other member states, who found they could not vote on 23 May.

In a letter to the UK Cabinet Office, seen by the BBC, an EU commissioner said those voters faced "a number of obstacles to participation".

The UK government says it "took all the legal steps necessary" before the vote.

EU Justice Commissioner Vera Jourova said in her letter of 21 June that the UK had "the obligation to respect the right to vote of EU citizens and to take the measures necessary to ensure such voting rights can be effectively exercised".

She said that in the 2014 European elections "the same problems were encountered by Union citizens" wishing to vote in the UK. Moreover, she said, the UK had pledged to remedy those issues before the May 2019 elections.

It wasn't difficult to guess that all of the EU nationals residing in the UK would be voting for pro-EU parties.

Here is something an old mate of mine, Ian Colfer, wrote earlier today.
My thoughts exactly, I couldn't have written it better, as follows....

It boggles the mind to wonder what would have happened if the referendum vote had gone to Remain. We'd have immediately signed everything over to the EU; we, the Leavers, would have been precluded from any consideration; the media would have been allowed to tip their propaganda machine into overdrive; MPs would still be revered despite their corruption growing ever deeper.

In other words, this can of worms that has been opened exposing the erosion of British rights, culture and existence was brought about by people's actions on one day: June 23rd 2016.

Everyday it's increasingly obvious and unintentionally overt that the Left is no longer liberal, but Marxist. Suppression of free-speech, controlling the media, propaganda; these are all party traits of the most despotic, murderous, violent regimes in history which includes the Nazis and the Communists.

What's surprising is from school to about 2yrs ago I firmly believed that civilisation had moved on to a point where those kind of movements could never be seen again.

Apparently they got much of their sleazy voter disenfranchisement ideas and tactics from their sleazy republican and GOPer counterparts. These deplorable groups are a disgrace to the common decency of humanity as enemies of civilization.

You can speak entirely freely here- with the exception of touching upon any reference to paedophilia. Unless you're a psychopathic anti-Islamic extremist who wants to term the prophet, Muhammad , a paedophile then that's OK. I don't know if that's because it's OK to call dead people paedophiles or whether it's just some confused moderator bias. Nobody has ever asked. Probably just dead people, I guess. Muhammad wasn't a paedophile anyway. Paedophilia is a mental disorder, not a cultural characteristic.
