"We are the only nation with birthright citizenship" - another lie

As I understand it the 14th Amendment was debated and written to ensure that freed slaves and native Americans were given citizenship and rights thereof. It was written at time that it was necessary. Like most things, times have changed, people have found loopholes and are in my opinion abusing it. I have always been on the mind that this country is a nation of immigrants. That is what built it. I have a real problem with folks not coming here legally though.

Which excludes the children or children of children etc... And I agree with the argument that countries that don't receive a lot of immigration (which may or may not
have an unfair impact on documented citizens) isn't instructive as applied to the US or Canada. But is certainly goes to the fact of whether or not Trump simply lied.

The historical impetus for the 14th was certainly as you stated, but they wrote what they wrote, and it was well within their power and comprehension to limit the words to that impetus.
Maybe Trump should keep his promise to build his wall before he breaks another immigration policy promise. This is red meat for his base before midterms and a statement piece without real prospects for any lawmaker
who joins in the idea. The only mechanism is amendment to the Constitution, and Trump knows that, and he also knows it is not a popular idea, except to that base. 60-40 against doesn't pass
a constitutional amendment, and an EO doesn't overturn the US Constitution.

Do we want EO threats without any earnest intent gumming up the work of the Scotus to be business as usual for Presidents going forward? The list of constitutional law any Potus opposes is long,
and its irresponsible to do other than espouse that view or politic for change. But to take the added step of lying for propaganda is wrong.

I have not decided whether the abomination said what he said because he lied...or because he is ignorant.

Both probably contributed, because even when he is showing his ignorance, he tends to lie. That probably is occasioned by the fact that whenever sounds are coming out of his mouth, he is almost always lying.

Trump's verbatim quote was "We're the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years with all of those benefits."

See & hear for yourself:

Lol what a snowflake.

From the link you cited: "Of advanced economies (as defined by the International Monetary Fund), Canada and the United States are the only countries that observe birthright citizenship." :rofl2:

BTW, that list is outdated, cum gargler. It's 2018 now.

plus canada has a more prosperous nation bordering it. The US has a cesspool in mexico.

Is this statement a lie, Brad?

"We're the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years with all of those benefits."

It’s only partially correct. There is no “essentially” about it, dumbfuck. The child IS an American citizen.

They have been fooling Americans for a long time, it's high time they wake up.

I still see on TV lots of whites willing to continue to vote for the republican party if dump left.

They are still willing to believe in and vote for the party of racist white men.

But the good news is
