how about Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Canada, Netherlands, and Norway. All have a higher happiness coefficient than the US. Only an idiot would not see that is the way to go.

I think what you will find with message boards, is that the average age of a rightwing poster is, what, around 82? You can tell by the archaic and outdated Cold War rhetoric rightwing posters use. I cannot tell you the number of times I have been called a "commie" or a "Bolshevik" on this board. It sometimes feels like being time-warped back to 1951!

I really do not think the word "socialism" is as derogatory, threatening, and offensive to people under the age of 40, as it is to Depends undergarments-wearing old white dudes patrolling obscure political message boards.

They also have largely homogeneous populations, vast natural resources and Germany on their doorstep. I have been to all of those countries apart from Finland. The Norwegians, for all their wealth from oil and fishing, are a miserable lot who consider it a national disaster to smile and speak to strangers. Swedish men are dominated by their women, which why they like to get drunk so often. Of course it is far too expensive to get drunk in Sweden so they go for long weekends to Denmark or Germany instead. I do like the Danes though, they seem to be a happier version of the Swedes.

I have spent time in all those countries except Finland and I think you are stereotyping them.

Geert Wilders has managed to get the burqa banned in Holland, that is a very popular policy there. The Dutch have become increasingly angry about Muslim immigration and quite rightly. Even my friend Kim from England who have lived in Amsterdam for 20 years, has said how bad it is and she is very much on the left.

Half breed? Pretty non PC language for somebody who espouses progressive politics. He is on the right certainly, but there are many on the left in Holland that admire him and his stance on Islamic fundamentalism.
