What went badly in Afghanistan? Why the hype?

“The Taliban captured an array of modern military equipment when they overran Afghan forces who failed to defend district centers. Bigger gains followed, including combat aircraft, when the Taliban rolled up provincial capitals and military bases with stunning speed, topped by capturing the biggest prize, Kabul, over the weekend.
The reversal is an embarrassing consequence of misjudging the viability of Afghan government forces — by the U.S. military as well as intelligence agencies — which in some cases chose to surrender their vehicles and weapons rather than fight.”

The fact that both the Trump and Biden admins supposedly missed the mark that badly is the most damning thing about this withdrawal, and it will probably be what has the longest lasting effect for us on the world stage. It makes our intelligence community, military leadership and state department look completely incompetent and with good reason. The only bright spot would be if it makes the rest of the world pay for their own defense.

A U.S. defense official on Monday confirmed the Taliban’s sudden accumulation of U.S.-supplied Afghan equipment is enormous. The official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and so spoke on condition of anonymity. Right so we left them a ton of stuff, that proves my premise, and orderly departure would have prevented that!

Okay, the war went very badly, we lost after 20 years, loss of lives of heros, countless billions of dollars, and nothing to show for it...

But as far as the pull out, what was really that bad?
Everyone knew it would be messy...

1) Americans not charged.
2) No weapons given to the Taliban.
3) No Americans killed.
4) Everyone will be evacuated.

I saw a mob at the airport, and some idiots who climbed onto an airplane as it took off fell to their deaths (what did they expect), that's about as bad as it got.

What went so badly exactly?

Agree. Usual right wing whining about nothing.

You’re delusional, it’s why Trump was a chicken and didn’t complete the withdrawal. He left it for Biden.

Nonsense Biden botched this, and even the propaganda wing of the left says so! It's cool Biden doesn't know what day it is so, somebody botched it he is probably drooling in a padded cell!

President Biden will speak publicly on the chaotic Kabul evacuation.

As the United States tries to ramp up its troubled evacuation in Afghanistan, President Biden is expected on Friday to address the furor over the sluggish process, stymied by mayhem in Kabul and delays in Washington, that threatens to strand thousands of Afghans desperate to flee the Taliban takeover.

Mr. Biden, who is expected to speak at 1 p.m. in Washington, has defended the pullout from Afghanistan, while promising not to abandon Afghans who risked their lives by working for the U.S. government during the war.

Have you ever known a Republican that actually knew the root cause of any problem?

Part 2 of that question, is actually a better question- HAVE YOU EVER KNOWN A REPUBLICAN TO BLAME THE ONE/S ACTUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTUAL PROBLEM?

My answer is- FUCK NO! NOT IN MY LIFETIME.

My conclusion is, the Republicans use "SHIFTING BLAME" as a strategic tool to controlling minds, inciting fear, inciting anger, and dividing people by taking an unscrupulous unfair political advantage.

THE POSITIVES- It's legal, even a 5th grader can do it, and it is very successful.

THE NEGATIVES- It's wrong- and problems are never really solved- WE NEVER REALLY LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES- PEOPLE SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES- PEOPLE GET IN CHARGE OF THINGS THAT CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO DO THE RIGHT THINGS- THE SYSTEM BECOMES CORRUPTED- AND DEMOCRACY BECOMES A FALSE REALITY BASED UPON LIES!

The choice to "Shift the blame" comes down to the honesty, morality, integrity, ability to understand right from wrong, having a conscience, the ability of wanting to always do the right thing, the desire to play fair, and living by the Golden Rule of treating others as you want to be treated yourself- FROM THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO SHIFT THE BLAME OF EVERYTHING!

WELL, THAT'S JUST IT FOLKS!

THE NEW REPUBLICANS have lost their moral values, they care less about being honest- even to themselves, they are more than willing to risk their own integrity, they care less about what is actually right and wrong, they have no conscience, they have no intention to play fair, and they certainly care less about how they treat others, and they have no respect for the truth or reality anymore.

I NOW PRESENT TO YOU THE MAN WHO WROTE THE NEW RULE BOOK FOR THE NEW REPUBLICANS.....

W is and a huge majority of Americans are the root cause of Afghanistan. I was called unpatirotic for warning that it would be a messy costly unbeneficial war.

Losing. Declaring Defeat. That's what went wrong.

Ummmm, many thousands of Americans being trapped over there, fearing for their lives...?? That's not bad??

Britain is SUPER pissed off at the Biden Regime atm, and rightly so, because there are also Brits who are trapped over there, and Biden didn't communicate his actions with the British government and left them in a shitty position.

At least the Brits are trying to save their own people... the Biden regime doesn't even want to do THAT...

The Biden regime is very Satanic. Fuck their Satanism.

War is hell. Who knew?

And you refuse to see Trump had a part in this as well. I understand why people are angry, but the blame doesn’t fall solely on Biden.

ok fine. Its all Trumps fault.

What is Biden doing now to rescue the 15000-20000 people left behind? I dont even care about the afghan refugees. Telling american citizens your on your own till you make it to the airport is not going to cut it. Particularly when the British and the French are going out to rescue their people.

I guarantee you that if this goes south and we leave behind hundreds if not thousands of Americans Bidens not going to get away with it by standing in front of a podium and blaming Trump.
