The data reveals a dramatic transformation in the nation's ethnic composition over seven decades - just 40 years ago, around 80 per cent of all Americans were white.


Declining birth rates among white Americans are also accelerating the shift.

The changes are expected to reach their peak impact between 2040 and 2050.

Reporting on these demographics does not necessarily indicate "hate." These statistics are used by certain demagogues to whip up fear on the Right. They are used by certain religious leaders (the "Quiverful" movement, for one) to encourage White people to have large families. This data and the political reaction to it helps us understand why certain people are so easily led by corrupt, venal leaders who prey upon their fears of no longer being the ruling majority race.
