Reparations for something you never were or never went thorough is an idiotic idea. How many generations do we go back (the point of the Romans sarcasm)? Which wrongs against whom do we demand payment for?
Who should pay? Should those in that came to the US after slavery ended pay for this? How about those that had family members killed to end slavery? Why should everyone have to pay for something they may have had no part in?
Reparations for slavery are total bullshit and nothing short of total bullshit. Blacks aren't owed a wooden nickel for past slavery, not one.

This still doesn't explain why someone who was not harmed by that company should get anything. That goes against all civil law. If anything it is almost ex post facto.
No, slave owners did not. Many lost everything, just as many of the leaders of the US revolutionary war did. Japanese Americans got reparations for being the one(s) harmed. The payment went to those harmed. That's how civil law is supposed to work. Losing nations in a war are often forced to fork over reparations to the winner. Again, the party harmed got the reparations.
Those cases aren't what you're arguing. You are arguing that persons several generations removed from the ones harmed should get reparations.
My question, again, is How far back do we go and against whom should this be applied? What makes slavery in the US unique for this? Nothing. By your reasoning anyone that can trace their ancestry back to some point where some other group, nation, whatever, did harm to them should have to pay up.
