Whoopie suspended

Ummm...I said that in my post (I guess you did not read it).

Then you just came to the wrong conclusion. Jews are a race. Judaism is a religion. An ethnic Jew doesn't have to adhere to Judaism. A practitioner of Judaism isn't required to be an ethnic Jew.

An ethnicity (Jews) is not the same as race.

Interesting … it’s not just people on the right who say things without thinking through the consequences.

You know, I don't think she was wrong.

The Holocaust wasn't about "race" because Judaism isn't a "race". It's a religion, which many people wrong;y conflated with "ethnicity". The Nazis claimed that it was a race, but they were wrong to believe that religion is a genetic trait, which was the flawed assumption they made.

She also said the Holocaust was between two groups of white peoples, which is true.

Further, the Nazis also persecuted and killed Communists, homosexuals, gypsies, and political prisoners in those camps. I'm pretty sure that many, if not all of them, were white.

Maybe that's why the wokesters only suspended her for a couple of weeks.

I think canceling anyone for airing their opinion, true or not, is disgusting and un-American.

:palm:

The Nazis were obsessed with race and defined the Jews as their racial inferiors, which is how they justified exterminating them.

This is why the Nazis targeted anyone with a Jewish grandparent, regardless of whether the person identified as Jewish or not. Nazism was a blood-based doctrine of racial supremacy. The very term Antisemitism, which casts Jews in racial terms, was popularized by a German anti-Jewish activist who wanted to give his hatred a scientific sheen. This is how it was construed in Nazi Germany and much of Europe.

And I don’t disagree. But I do agree with Damo, as he indicated in an earlier post in this thread, that when “punishment” for such ill thought out statements is meted out, it is almost always done with prejudice against the right.

But organized cancel culture type of stuff is not something I support. If a person could go back in time far enough, back when the Dixie Chicks said something about Bush and right wing radio sought to cancel them, I stated something along the lines that if individuals wanted to not buy their albums, more power to them…it’s an individual right…but any organized junket along those lines wasn’t good.

But once again, radio guys suggesting boycotting is one thing. Bosses threatened until they fire someone is quite another. But I don’t care for either.

Agreed.

hahahaha. she forgot her place in history

blacks can be victims, but when they try to climb on top of the mountain and knock of the victimhood king of the mountain - they see how it is real fast

I'm not sure that assuming that country music program directors responding to audience complaints are "right wing radio".

I don't recall the Dix Chix being abandoned by the left (who routinely insulted any and all fans of the genre, IIRC), either.

Any blow-back the Dix Chix got was fan-generated, AFAIK.

The View hasn't been boycotted, and neither has Caryn, an avowed leftist who fell victim to a reprehensible mob tactic.

There's a difference. And the cynic in me wonders if it was staged as a publicity stunt.

Consider what the left wants to do to Joe Rogan, for another example.

I am aware of all that nonsense.

There is NO such thing as a Jewish race.
And I do not give a shit whether you, neo-Nazis and millions of Jewish persons feel otherwise.

And I do not care if some Jew can trace themselves back to ancient blah blah blah.
Jews are not and NEVER have been a race.

And I will waste no more time on this excrement.
We are done here.

Shalom.
