Why are right wingers obsessed with abortion?

Like I said, I will never understand why right wingers obsess on abortion.

I have heard Republican strategists say if abortion becomes illegal they would lose one of their most important emotional issues. A lot of people are one-issue voters who vote only on abortion or guns. Republicans need that issue.

I see. About the only rationale.

Yeah I love tattoos on sexy women. But I would never get one, ever.

As to stretching the earlobes and lips? That is truly disturbing. I will never understand why they do that.

I don't either. It's repulsive. Nevertheless, it is their bodies and their right to deface them however they want. It harms no one but themselves, just as abortion harms not a single one of the forced-birthers.

Bingo. That's exactly what it is too -- an emotional appeal to the fundies and the do-gooders in their base. Some of our family members voted for #TRE45ON the first time solely on the abortion issue.

Agreed. But laws can prohibit abortion whether you call it murder or not. In some states shooting a pregnant woman and killing her child is a type of murder. The law can define murder however it chooses.

"The Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-212) is a United States law which recognizes an embryo or fetus in utero as a legal victim, if they are injured or killed during the commission of any of over 60 listed federal crimes of violence. The law defines "child in utero" as "a member of the species Homo sapiens, at any stage of development, who is carried in the womb."

EXACTLY.

Our laws should and must be rational. Law must be fair to all. And fetuses are not people. One can opine differently, but it is only opinion.

BABIES ARE CLEARLY GIVEN LEGAL PESONHOOD UNDER INFANTICIDE LAWS THAT PROPTECT THE UNBORN.

IT IS IRRATIONAL THAT ANOTHER PERSON CAN DETERMINE "PERSONHOOD" OR DENY IT, OF THAT SAME CHILD ,BASED ON HER "MOOD".

Yes, and I said it is based in the Christian religion.

That is too simplistic. I'm not aware of anything about abortion in the Bible (but it might be there). For most it is just an opposition to killing unborn children. That is the same objection as some atheists who oppose abortion but it is not based on their religious views.

But, even if Christians object based on their religion, so what? We all get our political opinions from some source. If you object to murder (of adults) because you think it is immoral, that is basically the same as Christians who oppose murder.

Seriously, you've heard of the Catholic Church?!

Depends on what you want the results to be. I assume you favor Biden's child care proposals. If it primarily benefited working class Trump voters does that bother you (many liberals don't like red states getting benefits)? I don't like it because it will mainly benefit fly-by-night companies who will start child care centers for federal money (like all the private for-profit colleges). Do our objections make that policy rational?
