Why Trump might invoke the Insurrection Act before, during, or after the midterms

Actually this would be a fun addition to the board.
We make bets and let the mods decide who won the bet.
And having something as innocuous as changing the avatar for a week wouldn’t be too punitive.
The deal was 6 months.

The Marxists like @Poor Richard Saunders want to bet cash, but that would actually get the board in trouble and make it a gambling site. Something with no monetary value is the way to do them.

Of course you still depend on the honor of the other person. Obviously Trump did NOT stop the election, so Hume lost the bet.

Poor little Uncensored, Has no honor and has no cash. It must be tough living with yourself.

Wouldn’t be surprised, look at what Trump attempted with only three months prep in 2020,
Pelosi is not Trump.
now with six years to prepare for any situation the Insurrection Act has to be on the table

In addition look for a real crisis when Trump starts litigating Congressional elections across the country instructing Johnson not to seat elected Democrats
You idiots are REALLY panicking!

Trump 2028!

Notice how it's only lefties who ever bring this shit up?
There is a reason. Conspiracy theories tend to be based on illiteracy...mostly in physics. They think what they see from Hollywood is real!

Guns that fire a bazillion bullets, but always run out at a critical moment before he shoots the hero.
Planes that run out of fuel and crash in a giant fireball.
Giant waves hitting the Statue of Liberty, but she stands tall.
Spaceships that make noise when they fire a laser.
Explosions that produce billowing clouds in space.
Iron that doesn't lose structural integrity until it actually melts.
Batteries that last forever and even charge themselves unless they are in a flashlight that goes out at just the right time to build suspense.
Multiple tornadoes in a single city with news helicopters flying between them.
Fake Moon landings, complete with the use of no fuel to slow a descent.
Direct path spaceflight (denying Kepler's laws).
The Explodatron 9000 computer.
Aliens or even microbes that destroy every living person.
Robots that can act and even think faster than any human.
Men that can pick up a building with a single arm.
Apocalyptic tableau in scifi movies.

So now you have people believing:
The Earth can somehow warm itself because of the presence of a Holy Gas.
The ozone is being destroyed.
The sky is glass.
The Moon landing was fake.
The WTC was imploded.
AI will destroy the world.
Big government is always a solution.
A mask protects you from a virus.
Society is collapsing in a grand apocalypse.

You see this sort of nonsense not only in the conspiracy theory threads, but all across JPP.

we had that in a prior forum i posted on a long time ago for avatar and signature bets.

There was an official 'bets' thread where the terms of the bet had to be clearly spelled out and both participants had to agree to them. Bets had to be clear things easy to determine winners and losers and not things where opinion might vary greatly. And the mods then enforced it, even giving bans to posters who just refused to honor it.

And it was fun. It added a very watched layer of interactions.
