Withdrawal Will Not Be Another Defeat Like Vietnam

Today’s headlines about Afghanistan on every blog make me sick. Not because the stories are heart wrenching, but because every story plays every pathetic touchy-feely trick in the book to keep the United Nations from losing a war.

Make no mistake about it, the war in Afghanistan has always been a United Nations war. A military defeat is their defeat.

United Nations Security Council resolution 1386, adopted unanimously on 20 December 2001, after reaffirming all resolutions on the situation in Afghanistan, particularly resolutions 1378 (2001) and 1383 (2001), the Council authorised the establishment of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to assist the Afghan Interim Authority in the maintenance of security in Kabul and surrounding areas. It was the final Security Council resolution adopted in 2001.

Remember that then-Senator Joe Biden was a leading advocate for fighting a United Nations war in Afghanistan.

Not one more American should die in Afghanistan for the United Nations.

NOTE: Afghans defeated the Soviet Union with the weapons the U.S. provided. Admittedly, the Taliban does not fight with helicopters and tanks, but the same U.S. policy that helped defeat the Soviets can be adapted to defeat the Taliban without one American dying.

Young Americans of military age better be damn sure they are being asked to fight in foreign lands for this country, and not being fobbed into dying for United Nations.

Just to be clear. There is no objection to killing Muslims trying to kill you, while Constitution-loving Americans would cut their own throats if they fight to replace one religion with another. Americans must defeat Islam as a matter of self-defense, but they must not do it for Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Socialism, democracy, the United Nations, and certainly not for the New World Order. Fighting for their country is the only thing Americans should fight for.

Finally, if you believe in the power of prayer, pray that Americans are not being deployed to Afghanistan in another failed attempt to save democracy à la nation-building.

Failed foreign policy in Afghanistan is one more reason Biden was never right about anything. Remember that then-Senator Joe Biden was a leading advocate for fighting a United Nations war in Afghanistan.

Lest I be misinterpreted, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq all met the preemptive war of self-defense criterion. In short: War policy based on what the United Nations dictates is the problem —— not wars of self-defense. Biden was always too stupid to know the difference. You can bet the family jewels that Xi Jingping knows the difference. That is why they are laughing at a different joke:

NOTE: President Truman outsmarted Communists in the Korean War when the Soviet Union did not show for the one and only time they missed a Security Council meeting. Also note that the U.N. opposed the war in Vietnam.

Democrats always wanted out of Iraq, but not out of Afghanistan. That is because the Afghanistan coalition is a U.N.-approved military intervention. Leading Democrats screaming about their phoney concerns for American lives lost in Iraq made me sick because I know that they never gave a damn about how many Americans are killed fighting for a U.N. in Afghanistan.

Incidentally, the Taliban hanged Afghanistan’s Communist president in 1996, but I do not think that one good act entitles all Muslims to the Joe McCarthy Anti-Communism Award.

Muslims honed their insurgency skills in Algeria. Since 1962 Muslims believe they will always have occupying troops to attack. Radical Islamists may think they have perfected the ultimate battle strategy against an occupying force. But what if there is no occupation? What do they do then? My point is this: Just level those damn countries, starve them out, use every weapon in our arsenal and be done with it. All of those douche bags combined are not worth the life of one American killed in occupying the country of a sworn enemy for the United Nations.

America used a small percentage of its military might and WEAPONRY in Iraq and Afghanistan. Should it ever come to an all-out war this country fights to win instead of fighting PEACE WITHOUT VICTORY wars like Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq type wars, it would not take long to defeat an enemy country, or countries, so long as the U.S. military is fighting for their country not fighting for the U.N.’s global agenda.

Actually the U.S. deserves credit for rescuing Vietnam from the clutches of communism in 1975 for the following reason in terms of the fall of Saigon:

Will Vietnam become the next ‘world’s factory’ as production moves away from China?

The Vietnamese economy has been touted as a major beneficiary of the US-China trade war as companies are reportedly relocating factories to Vietnam to rebuild their supply chains. Whether the Southeast Asian country can replace China to become the next "world's factory" has become a hot topic of discussion.

Vietnam's GDP grew 6.79 percent in the first quarter of this year thanks in large part to the growth in its processing and manufacturing sector. Though its economic growth rate slowed from the 7.31 percent gain in the previous quarter, the country is still likely to be the fastest-growing economy in Asia during the period.

In the past, Vietnam attracted capacity transfers from many manufacturers in textiles, garments and other low-end industries that have fled China over the past decade due to rising labor costs. In 2010, Vietnam surpassed China for the first time as the leading producer of Nike shoes.

Now against the background of the trade war, the Southeast Asian country seems well poised to become a new regional manufacturing hub across a variety of sectors. In order to bring high-tech manufacturing back to the US, the Trump administration has taken a series of actions, including initiating the trade war with China, to reshuffle global supply chains. Multinational companies have also been moving their operations to countries with lower costs, such as Vietnam, partially under the cost pressure caused by US tariffs on Chinese exports. With geographical proximity to China, Vietnam boasts the largest industrial manufacturing system in Southeast Asia. A young population and low labor costs also add to its appeal to multinational companies.

As international electronics giants are relocating to Vietnam, the country is set to become the new manufacturing center for the global electronics industry. In 2018, South Korea's Samsung and Japan's Olympus closed their respective factories in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, and transferred their operations to Vietnam. Samsung has already invested billions of dollars in building a grand manufacturing base in the Saigon High-Tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City. The park has also received heavy investment from other high-profile tech giants like Intel, Schneider and Jabil. Moreover, in 2015, Microsoft moved its Nokia manufacturing from Beijing to Hanoi, the Vietnamese capital."

To gemini104104: How in hell does the U.S. get credit for creating another Communist economy in addition to another satellite country for China? The military danger is that China is not is making the same satellite mistakes the Soviet Union made.

NOTE:

China won in Vietnam. There were no anti-Korean War demonstration because it was a U.N. war. The U.N. did not sanction the Vietnam War; hence, demonstrations against the war was the main reason China won in Vietnam. Those demonstrations began before China was seated in 1971:

https://www.justplainpolitics.com/s...YOU%92-Stand-On-H-R-204&p=3259359#post3259359

Democrats agitated for seating Communist China in the U.N. shortly after China went Communist. The agitation paid off while the Vietnam War was still being fought. In addition to the Vietnam War giving American Communists a tool to admit China to the U.N. —— DEMOCRATS are still proud of bringing defeat to their own country.

The American Left increased its agitation and propaganda efforts throughout the Vietnam War until Nixon yielded to media pressure and seated the People’s Republic of China. That included giving the Republic of China’s Security Council seat to Communist China. It also meant that two out of five seats on the Security Council were occupied by Communist governments thanks to the American Left. Both were nuclear powers.

OBAMA UPDATE

Remember that it was that filthy piece of garbage, Barack Hussein Obama, who did this:

When Bergdahl was traded for five Taliban prisoners and brought home, Shannon Allen, Mark's wife didn't hold back her feelings for how he changed their family forever.

"Meet my husband," she wrote on Facebook, "injuries directly brought to you by the actions of this traitor."

Donald Trump also expressed his disdain towards the prisoner transfer of Bergdahl, calling the decision "a complete" and "total disgrace to our country and our Military."

During the trial of Bergdahl, Shannon testified that it took 90 minutes to get her husband out of bed, showered and dressed each morning. She had to use a pulley system, which was attached to the ceiling to move him, according to Task & Purpose.

Mark's young daughter also enjoyed climbing into his wheelchair and sitting on his lap, Shannon told the outlet.

U.S. Veterans' Network posted a tribute, calling Allen "a true American hero."

"MSG Mark Allen, a true American hero. Thank you for your service brother. We'll take it from here," the network posted on Facebook.

His service will be held in Loganville, Georgia on Oct. 17 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

When then-President Barack Obama released five Taliban commanders from the Guantanamo Bay prison in exchange for an American deserter in 2014, he assured a wary public the dangerous enemy combatants would be transferred to Qatar and kept from causing any trouble in Afghanistan.

In fact, they were left free to engineer Sunday’s sacking of Kabul.

Soon after gaining their freedom, some of the notorious Taliban Five pledged to return to fight Americans in Afghanistan and made contacts with active Taliban militants there. But the Obama-Biden administration turned a blind eye to the disturbing intelligence reports, and it wasn’t long before the freed detainees used Qatar as a base to form a regime in exile.

Eventually, they were recognized by Western diplomats as official representatives of the Taliban during recent “peace” talks.

Earlier this year, one of them, Khairullah Khairkhwa, actually sat across the table from President Biden’s envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, in Moscow, where Khairkhwa was part of the official Taliban delegation that negotiated the final terms of the US withdrawal. The retreat cleared a path for the Taliban to retake power after 20 years.

“I started jihad to remove foreign forces from my country and establish an Islamic government, and jihad will continue until we reach that goal through a political agreement,” Khairkhwa said at the summit.

After raiding the presidential palace in Kabul, a group of armed Taliban fighters told Al Jazeera that they were arranging to bring back their Gitmo-paroled leadership from Qatar upon securing the capital. One unidentified fighter, who blasted America for “oppressing our people for 20 years,” claimed he had also been locked up at the Guantanamo Bay facility. It’s more evidence Gitmo catch-and-release policies facilitated the fall of Afghanistan to the enemy Washington vowed to crush after 9/11.

The mastermind of the regime change is former detainee Khairkhwa, the Taliban mullah whom Obama released from Gitmo even though the Pentagon classified him as too dangerous to release.

Earlier this year, Khairkhwa assured the administration that the Taliban would not launch a spring military offensive if Biden committed to removing all remaining American troops. He also promised not to retaliate against any Afghans who worked with the US military or the US-backed government in Kabul. But Khairkhwa showed no signs of remorse or rehabilitation inside Gitmo — if anything, he’s probably more embittered to the United States. Why would they believe him?

Reports coming out of Kandahar and Kabul indicate the extremists have already broken their word. Taliban thugs have started a reign of terror against people who cooperated with Westerners. Guided by a “kill list,” they are going door-to-door to punish their enemies.

Khairullah Khairkhwa and four other leaders of the Taliban were released from prison in Guantanamo Bay in 2014 in exchange for Bowe Bergdahl.

Special envoy Khalilzad convinced the White House the US-backed government would not collapse and the Taliban would not take over — even though Khairkhwa made it clear he and his fellow mullahs sought to reestablish strict Islamic rule without outside meddling.

Mullah Khairkhwa previously served as the Taliban’s minister of interior in Afghanistan, where he oversaw enforcement of brutal Islamist punishments, including beheadings and stonings. After 9/11, he was arrested in Pakistan and sent to Gitmo in 2002. The Pentagon accused him of closely associating with Osama bin Laden and bin Laden’s al?Qaeda henchmen.

Twelve years later, Obama sprung Khairkhwa from jail along with four other top Taliban leaders in exchange for the Taliban releasing US Army Sgt. Robert “Bowe” Bergdahl, who was captured after deserting his post in Afghanistan. Khairkhwa and his fellow parolees, who were immediately flown to Qatar, were the only “forever prisoners” released without being cleared by the Gitmo parole board.

Upon his return, Obama celebrated Bergdahl as a heroic “POW,” a designation the Pentagon never gave him. At the bizarre Rose Garden ceremony, during which Bergdahl’s father praised Allah, Obama asserted: “We’re committed to winding down the war in Afghanistan and closing Gitmo.”

But public opinion rapidly turned against Bergdahl as the facts of his disappearance and capture became known. He ultimately was court-martialed and pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. In 2017, he was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge. Last year, the US military’s top appeals court upheld the conviction against him.

Several of his fellow soldiers were seriously injured during search-and-rescue missions launched to find him in Afghanistan. During Bergdahl’s five-year Taliban captivity, the Taliban became more accurate and deadly targeting US convoys and troops.

It’s not clear if then-Vice President Biden was fully on board with Obama’s controversial prisoner exchange. But in a reversal of Trump administration policy, Biden has restarted Obama’s program to release Gitmo detainees as part of a renewed push to close the prison.

Last month, the president released his first prisoner — accused terrorist Abdul Latif Nasser — leaving the number of remaining detainees at 39. Ten others have been cleared for release, while still others have appealed to Biden through their pro-bono defense lawyers to ensure their release, despite the risk of them returning to militant activities like the Taliban Five.

If Obama and Biden had left the five Taliban thugs to rot in Cuba, Kabul more than likely would not be back in the clutches of the Taliban right now. And maybe Americans wouldn’t have sacrificed more than 2,400 troops and $1 trillion in vain.

I remember RR and:

Likewise, the movie short-changes credit on the human-rights side. While it shows that Charlie Wilson had rightly and quite commendably informed Congressional liberals about the horror of Soviet-made booby-trapped toys blowing limbs off Afghan children, Ronald Reagan went much further, directly excoriating Mikhail Gorbachev for this vicious tactic. Reagan courageously did so, to the shock of his moderate advisers, in his first one-on-one with Gorbachev at the Geneva Summit in November 1985.

An angry, seething Reagan -- as emotionally attached to the Afghan suffering as was Charlie Wilson -- concluding his reprimand of Gorbachev by snapping at the Soviet leader: "Are you still trying to take over the world?" Gorbachev was visibly shaken, staring at Reagan in silence, mouth agape, with a stunned expression. Reagan arms control director Ken Adelman, a witness, called Reagan's words in that exchange the most "harsh indictment of Soviet behavior ever delivered to the top Soviet man." Reagan biographer Edmund Morris reported that the only person who appeared more flabbergasted was the State Department note-taker.

It is no wonder China Joe Biden is falling apart. He cannot admit that the war then-Senator Biden advocated is lost.

One good thing came out of Afghanistan. The United Nations will get the blame for losing the war.

Finally, score two for Democrats and their U.N. bunghole buddies.

1. They handed South Vietnam to Communists.

2. They handed Afghanistan to a terrorist organization.

p.s. Biden in the Balkans:

Note that President Clinton dared not use United Nations “peacekeepers” to kill Christians for Muslims in his Balkan Adventure; so he used NATO to sneak the U.N. in thru the backdoor. “U.N. Peacekeepers” are now entrenched in the Balkans.

Incidentally, millions of Muslims poured into Europe after the Balkan War ended.

President Clinton’s use of NATO in his Balkan Adventure is a train wreck waiting to happen. More so because it originated with then-Senator Joe Biden.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Biden said that he was the catalyst that changed the conditions in the Balkans fronted by President Clinton. True, or untrue, Biden claimed he was the guy who told Bill Clinton what to do in Bosnia. If true, he told Clinton to use NATO forces to bomb Christians.

The basic principle behind all this is that capitalism couldn't care less about people - it works for profit and advantage. The attack on Afghanistan was idiotic in the first place, and the occupation has been kept going because various businesses were make a packet. It suited their book to let women get educated and such, but now there's no profit in it, so hard luck! What's new?
