Wow, that global warming thang is a real bitch!

Canceled
Make it stop! 75 million Americans on alert and 4,400 flights are cancelled as the fourth nor'easter in a month dumps up to two feet of snow on the first full day of spring

A nor'easter is threatening to dump up to a foot of snow from West Virginia to Massachusetts on Wednesday. Snow has already begun to fall but will intensify throughout the day.

Liberals don't realize that global warming is a good thing. With warmer weather, people will spend more money on golf clubs and other recreational items. It's great for the economy.

And Henry Winkler adds, Eskimos look great in bikinis.

Oh, poor Tom - joining the "it's freezing out, so there can't be global warming!" crowd?

What an embarrassment. And you claim to actually know something on this topic?

I love this thread. Oh, how I love it.

If you understand climate you know the impact is extremes, because of the scale that is the Earth's climate trying to balance things out. Hurricanes actually take part in that balancing act, and as it becomes more unbalanced we will get more. Havana lives in England, so I wonder how he enjoyed that rare storm that hit there. I live in Michigan, and more snow is to be expected anymore, and it's because of warmer temps. The water stays warmer, and then freezing air comes through, and create precipitation off the warm lakes. I wonder if Havana even knows what lake effect snow is. In addition, a year or two ago, it was Christmas time going down to Ohio, but we showed up to tornado sirens blaring.

Hm. Sounds like the sky is falling. I'd better make arrangements.

At this point in time it is useless to argue or debate with people about climate change. The die is cast. It is time to crack a beer and watch the show.

Once again the ignoramus Tom has equated snowfall with cold climate.
Where I live in the Colorado mountains we have had one of the mildest winters in history averaging 8 to ten degrees warmer than what we used to call a normal year.
Today the temperature hit 52 degrees fahrenheit and tomorrow is forecast to hit 57 degrees.
Our historical monthly average high for March is 40 degrees fahrenheit.
For our altitude ( over 9000 feet) these temperatures are more typical of May than March.
Lake Dillon that usually freezes in the first week of December did not freeze over until nearly February this year and it is showing signs of a very early thaw already. Normal historical ice melt before 2000 use to be mid to late May.

Is that the official line from Putin?
That is a rhetorical question. We All know it has to be. It's from hvilleherb.

We had a normal winter (whatever that is). Still is. Snow's great! Wife goes to Germany tomorrow so I'll be skiing my ass off all weekend starting Fri. afternoon. *yawn* zzzzzzzz

The ski areas here have forgotten what a "normal" winter is. Without their snow making equipment they would all be bankrupt.
The last decade has seen the near total loss of every lodgepole pine tree in the state due to climate change.
The cold temperatures in early winter used to kill off the population of pine beetles that devour the trees living just under the bark.
Their populations have increased every year since around 1999 until almost all the lodgepoles are now dead throughout the region.
Global warming has been the cause. It no longer gets cold enough to kill the pine beetles anymore.

Now the trees are all but gone.

BTW snowfall amount is in no way an indication that winter temperatures are normal.
Tom is an ignoramus and a fool..
