It's not lying that's the Democrat's problem, it's radical Leftist politics and positions. The radical Left often talks a good game, but once in power the emperor is revealed to have no clothes. People quickly sour on radical Leftist politics and positions and that sinks the radical Left every time. The only hope the radical Left has for staying in power once they get it is to twist the political system into either one of total fraud they can manipulate or convert the system to a totalitarian dictatorship. It's stuff like:

DEI: Racism, favoritism over merit, and the like don't go down well with anyone but the recipients.

Raising taxes and wealth confiscation

Spending on politically favored darling projects like high speed rail, environmentalism--particularly radical environmentalism, welfare and social wealth redistribution, reparations to favored groups. People quickly come to both hate the programs and see them as total wastes of money.

Ignoring fraud and corruption when it is done by favored or protected groups or individuals. Nobody likes a cheat or a criminal and seeing nothing done about them makes people hostile to your cause.

Putting a dictatorship of virtue in place. Everything from forced union membership to 'Disinformation governance boards' makes people quickly come to hate those doing those things to them.

Open borders, soft on crime, and the like. This goes with fraud and corruption. People don't like criminals and politicians coddling them don't stay in power long.

So, it's not so much lying as it is simply insane, idealistic, unrealistic, absurd, idiotic ideas that the Left has for their Dictatorship of Virtue that make them nearly universally despised. Without absolute power, the Left simply cannot stay in power.
