I think many ppl would agree there are some advantages to a homogeneous society/country, although there are not many around any more for some reason, as well as some disadvantages..

Given the present political structures how does that actually play out??

There are, but they're outside of the Western world, where people aren't told by the TV that Nationalism is racist.
This just shows that Nationalism is natural, and the only way people become Globalist is when they're subject to decades of Globalist propaganda in the media and academia.

It's as simple as having ethnic-based immigration laws or policies, like most countries do.

Pretty much any country. China, Egypt, Mexico, Thailand, take your pick.
Even most of Eastern Europe is Nationalist, because they weren't subjected to Western propaganda until rather recently. Right now there is a lot of tension between the EU and the Visegrád countries because the latter refuse to take in hundreds of thousands of migrants from the Middle East.

No country is 100% homogeneous, but those countries are mostly homogeneous. When America was an ethnostate, it was about 90% white, which is enough for me.
