Racism WILL be more aggressively challenged .. because of this moment.

Immigration WILL be addressed more sanely ,, because of this moment.

The Republican Party HAS been conclusively defined as the party of racists because of the moment.

I have never been prouder. This is what so many of us have been thinking, and he says it. It's so refreshing. I love that the common line isn't being towed. Yes, they are shithole countries, and we don't want the garbage. I am loving his america first attitude. Try to emigrate to canada. They'll fucking reject you. The vast majority of countries in the world require you to have a good job, or a certain amount of wealth, or something you can actually tangibly bring to the country. America is the only country in the world where we are expected to get the worlds garbage people.

Yep - this is pretty ugly stuff.

Every time this happens w/ Trump, my first reaction (inexplicably) is, "well, certainly, they can't defend THIS one." And they always do. I expect this speech from Trump; it's just who he is. The much more depressing aspect is the legions of minions who will try to justify it.

There is no rock bottom for this group. They keep going lower.

This is actually one of the things he said that I like the most. Again its a matter of priorities. America to benefit citizens first or the world first?

Tell me, tsuke: who decides who will "benefit" us? What are the criteria?

Please don't tell me wealth & degrees. Immigrants start businesses at twice the rate of native borns. The work ethic of many cultures is also legendary. Do we really want to be in the business of arbitrarily deciding who will 'benefit' us?

That is the fundamental question, comrade.

Unfortunately, the answer should be obvious but it isn’t. But fortunately, the question is academic in at least one sense because Americans still retain the right to decide on how to answer the question.

If and when we as a country decide to do as Europe does on immigration, we will become like Europe.

It's true, Canada, Australia and New Zealand all have points systems. Once we have thrown off the EU shackles we will do the same.
