DEMOCRATS are moving to get illegal votes legitimized

It didn't used to be, but eluding an officer is now a felony. How many of us attended a HS graduation party? I did and the State Police came in a helicopter and cruisers to break it up, we ran like hell in every direction! A few were caught and received underage drinking citations, but also could have been convicted of eluding. Does that really warrant losing your constitutional rights for life?
IMO, actions speak pretty loud, and almost all of those who were caught back then are hard working responsible citizens who have not broken any laws since.
Oh, and two of those vote conservative, they're good friends of mine.

Yes, if thats what the law requires.

Please explain why someone who's paid their debt should NOT be able to re-assimilate?

please......no one else wants to answer my question.........should felons vote on judges and district attornies?.....if you recognize the problem inherent in that, tell me why voting for those who make the laws such as legislators would be any different?.......

as to your question, is it your assumption that every person that has served their time has now been rehabilitated and should be trusted to contribute to a healthy society by their voting?.......or should it be determined on a case by case basis?......

ANYONE who's PAID their DEBT ... should return to Society and live their life.

Myself, I think it should be considered by a case by case basis. If you can prove, over time, you can become a productive and law abiding citizen, you shouldn't have to give up your constitutional rights, violent felonies excluded.

Most states already restore felon voting rights.

May I remind you of what you just said in another thread?

Illegals are breaking the law. Why can't you liberals comprehend that?

what is included in "their debt"....is being removed from circulation for thirteen months sufficient to satisfy their debt to society?.......or are they still criminals who've simply outlasted their sentence?.......shouldn't someone look and see if their debt has in fact been paid BEFORE they get back the right to vote?.......

They can, in most states.

Unfortunately, recidivism is running as high as 80%. If you think that's assimilating, I can't help you.

Also, some jurisdictions even allow incarcerated inmates to vote.

Big difference between a felon who has served their time and a illegal who is breaking the law every day by just being here.

I agree that most people who have served their time should have their rights restored. Those who betrayed this country should never have their rights restored.

The Judge and Jury determines that ... not you.

I know what I said. Illegals aren't American citizens, are they?

Don't try to muddy the waters. Crime is crime. If criminals must be punished according to the law, that applies to youthful beer buddies just as it applies to any other criminal, regardless of immigration status.

You're all over the place on this issue. You want your high school beer buddies to get a pass while you want the book thrown at everyone else, apparently.

I'm not trying to "muddy the waters." Illegals should be deported until they can become citizens legally, period.
Americans are already citizens, and should be treated as such, hence my statements.

If you apply your reasoning consistently, why would you deny violent felons the restoration of their voting rights?
