Elites are thriving under Trump

How is that Trump tax cut working out for you middle class?!!

Two things; first and foremost, the tax law hasn't even been implemented and is not retroactive to last year. We are only now beginning to file our taxes and the deadline is April 17th this year.

Therefore, the hysterical and false claims erupting from the left are patently false, disingenuous and stupid.

Secondly; when you start your article with a strawman claim and a massive pile of stupid, no one will take you seriously.

President Trump paints himself as the patron saint of farm hands and factory workers. Yet the people faring best under the Trump presidency are those more likely to be his peers and guests at the swanky Mar-a-Lago club than the “forgotten men and women” who helped elect Trump.

But what is truly remarkable is a political party who is trying to make the case that tax cuts are not a good thing and that Government needs the money much more than the American people. That is moronic and I hope it serves to burn down any hopes for the Party of the Jackass revival they are hoping for in the Fall.

I'll bet Donald and Ivanka and Jarod and...ya know...people like that got a lot!

You would be wrong. But then, this is why you are a lying leftist loser on steroids. If you got things right, you wouldn't support a failed ideology that can only survive through lies.

The Trump tax cut was a gift to wealthy and corporations.

That is an outright lie. But then, you're incapable of thinking for yourself and therefore, parrot the stupidity you've been fed by the FAKE leftist media and DNC.

Did you know that corporations do not pay taxes? They actually COLLECT taxes....from idiots like you who think corporations pay them.

However Trump said it was a middle class and poor people tax cut. So if he says it, it must be so.

Give us a link to support these emotional hysterics.

Trump is like some posters here. If he says it often enough and crudely enough, the Repubs will buy in. Of course tariffs result in higher prices.

...and you are one of the idiots here who thinks if you lie enough times, it will somehow make you look less of an idiot. But alas, you're still a liar and look stupid.

I wonder who would be paying higher prices? So American consumers will pay for or Trumps tariff wars. Wonder how far a buck and a half a week will go?

What I wonder is that when all your stupid false claims and emotional hysterics turn out to be lies, will you admit once and for all you are a willful idiot? That is the BIG question.

But I get it.....you hate Trump......and.....

WARNING……America hating liberal with a serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.…….WARNING! :rofl2:

I have always been honest about this and taxes. I am a progressive who will tell democrats to get off their high horse about the tax cuts. With half the people not paying taxes, they are NEVER going to benefit from a cut in tax rates. I personally wouldn't have cut the rates for other reasons, but as for who benefits from the cuts, it is like a bald man complaining because he didn't get a discounted haircut. Now while I am progressive, I am also mindful this debt is getting a little closer to the brink than I would like, so I would rather see them have allocated some of the money to actual debt reduction. Actually payoff some of these bonds as they become payable and all that. Just because I am on the left doesn't mean I ignore economic realities.

The only way to come out of this mess we are in (at the hands of both Democrats and Republicans)...is to think WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY outside the box.

Not an easy thing to do.

I suggest not envisioning the problem in dollar and cents terms...costs, debt, taxes, etc.

Here is a different way to look at it:

What we would like to see is a society where everyone has sufficient...enough so that food, shelter, medical care, education, communication, transportation is SUFFICIENT...and with a bit of extra, so that some comfort can be had.

Do we have (or can we obtain) enough food to go around? Would rich people have to eat less in order for us all to have food?

Do we have (or can we obtain) enough shelter so that no one has to sleep in the cold? Would rich people have to give up shelter in order for everyone to have shelter?

Do we have (or can we obtain) enough medical care for everyone? Would rich people have to give up medical care in order for everyone to have adequate?

Do we have (or can we obtain) adequate facilities for educational opportunity for everyone? Would the rich people have to stay more stupid in order for everyone to get an education?

Do we have (or can we obtain) enough cell phones for everyone. Would the rich people have to be without communication for that to happen?

Same thing for transportation. Can we supply transportation for everyone...without the rich having to stay home locked?

What do you see as more business friendly vis a vis the tax code in today's global environment?

Cuts should be conditional. Also, w/ the whole passthrough thing, it disproportionately benefits large corps - it should be more geared toward small businesses.

There really isn't anything to guarantee that the cuts get reinvested or passed on in the form of more jobs or higher wages. Ultimately, it's a windfall for the wealthiest.

Smoke & mirrors. They crafted something in such a way that they could say to everyone, "Hey, you got a bigger paycheck...why are you complaining?"

It's mathematically challenged to not understand what this will do to the ever-expanding gap between rich & poor.

So let me get this straight, giving people more of what they earn will increase the gap between rich and poor? That is just preposterous and stupid. It is obvious you are mathematically challenged.

Secondly; when was it the Governments job to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor? How does the Governments ever expanding grab into American's wallets bridge that gap?

Lastly; do you really, and stupidly, believe that corporations pay taxes? How?

Striking maps reveal the huge wealth gap between American cities and the rest of the

Holy Gilded Age, 21st century?

It massively benefits everyone. It means more people will avoid having to pay federal income taxes. It means those in the third quartile will still pay less than they would have. It means more small business owners will survive.

Yes, the wage gap is still there. Taxation doesn't change the pay scale. But you are foolish if you think people aren't going to appreciate the bigger paychecks.

Of course everyone appreciates the bigger check - but you're not looking at the big picture. Ultimately, it grows the gap faster, and will mean more stagnant wages for workers down the line & more of an inability to keep up w/ COL increases.

It's what I said - it's crafted so that they can tell people not to complain because they're getting a bigger check.

It's not just that bracket. This plan massively benefits those at the very top.

That is an outright lie. Have you done an in depth study of the new code that is yet to be written? Of course you haven't; you merely parrot the idiot talking points you have been fed.

Yet, the same idiots who make these claims that you gulp up also stated that the wealthy might even pay more under the new tax plan. You see, the FAKE leftist media can't make up it's mind which constituency they want to dupe the most.

It's a difference in philosophy. I'm all for a more friendly business climate, but this plan is classic trickle-down, imo.

Another painfully stupid leftist talking point. How is it trickle down when it is OUR money we are keeping? The Government cannot GIVE anyone anything it doesn't first confiscate. If you had a brain, you could comprehend the OBVIOUS.

It's wonderful that some companies were very public about how they planned to pass this on to employees and investment in their companies, but we've seen from experience that most of that money will just end up abroad and passing along to heirs.

How do corporations pass money along to their heirs? Another moronic statement lacking common sense and intelligence. You seem to be quite full of them.

What we will see is that because companies are not being forced to add these higher rates of taxes to the price of their goods and services, they can plow that back into their businesses and expand them or lower prices and become more competitive overseas.

Yes, a growing economy and opportunity are what bridge the gap between rich and poor, not poorly thought our Government redistribution schemes designed to keep corrupt professional bureaucrats elected.

The wealth gap is worse than during the Gilded age and Trump rule ,is making it worse yet. He is a tool for the plutocrats.

Another flat out lie; what is it about you and your propensity to spew outrageous and stupid lies all the time? I know......

WARNING…….Trump Derangement Syndrome.…….WARNING! :rofl2:

I am looking at the big picture. You are focused on the wage gap and that is it. Your nonsense that this will mean stagnant wages down the line is just that, nonsense.

The ability of a person to negotiate wages will depend on the labor market. Not on taxation.

That stated, you do know that after every major tax cut there has been a corresponding increase in revenue right?

The debt and deficits we are seeing have NOTHING to do with a lack of REVENUE, but everything to do with a massive increase in SPENDING. We do not have a revenue problem in this country, but rather, a SPENDING problem.

Tariffs are a tax on consumers. I don't support tax increases and I don't support tariffs. Tariffs, and trade wars, harm businesses and aren't done for the benefit of the elite.

So you don't think workers have noticed the increase in their checks?

that said, we agree on the tariff wars... consumers will pay the price for that if it continues.

To both of you; yes, there is a cost to tariffs. That said, the cost of NOT protecting American products and unfair trade practices is far greater.

This isn't thinking outside of the box. This is thinking INSIDE of the box and reaching backwards to an ideological fantasy that has never worked.

Thinking outside of the box is allowing citizens and businesses to keep more of what they earn so that they can be the "deciders" of how to spend that wealth.

Centralized planning cannot work, never has worked and when attempted, proven to cause far more harm than good. But alas, you are a product of an educational system that has terribly failed the American people.

Hear, hear! Exactly what we should be doing -- paying down the debt, trying to get to a place where we have a surplus again for when the inevitable downturn comes around. Instead, by cutting taxes and doing nothing to decrease the debt, we're basically ensuring that the inevitable downturn is 1) going to come sooner than it otherwise might, and 2) ensuring that it is more severe and long-lasting because we won't have the means to stimulate the economy to get it going again.

The fact is no one wants to touch entitlements. That's what's driving our debt. And most likely no one will want to touch it until it is in full blown crisis mode.

Unfortunately, Thing...one thing that has to be factored in...is...

...NO MATTER WHAT...THERE WILL NEVER BE MORE JOBS...AND HIGHER WAGES.

It just cannot happen using the system now in place.

Every corporation is REQUIRED to make as much money as possible...and that invariably means cutting labor costs. Fewer people being paid...and paying the ones being paid as little as possible.

The entire system has to crash...and be replaced.

I used to think it could be tweaked into some sort of system that would work. But as it stands now...not even tweaking will accomplish anything.
