I always thought it was weird that Billy Bush got fired over the whole deal. Maybe there is something to that.

Maybe Papadopoulos told him.
Maybe Gates spilled the beans in a plea arrangement.

I would think if it was Papadopoulos or gates, this rate would’ve happened months ago. Maybe they found something on Cohen and they’re going to try and flip him.

Then How would Trump be involved? The warrant allowed them to look for communications between Cohen and Trump, so they must have something that would suggest that Cohen and Trump had a communication about committing a crime.

Maybe. Federal law is full of quicksand and one of the biggest pools relates to using telephone, telegraph, internet or the United States Post Office for anything related to some things as their default white collar crime catch-all. It comes up some times with private-placed securities, for instance, because even securities exempt from reporting become reportable to the extent to show you are exempt if you use any of those things to place them, but someone not that experienced with the quagmire might not realize it looking just at the exemptions section and think they can just issue the securities calling people up and saying, "Hey, want to buy a bond for my new golf course we are building?"

Makes sense, but why would trump and Cohen have been talking about it?

They won't flip Cohen.
He is insane.
He said he would take a bullet for the orange clown.

Theoretically, it could be "Hey, why don't we call up Billy Bush and see if he will take $50K to say that recording is fake." "Okay" few minutes later, "Billy says he will do it, but he wants that $50K to be sent to his grandma's bank account" "Hey, Banker, I am wiring this $50K to Granny Bush's account as a gift/lawsuit settlement/for her awesome cookies!!!"

You could have a few different crimes tied up in there not dissimilar to the former speaker paying off his blackmail ending him up in prison.
