ALERT: Active shooter at Santa Fe Tx. High school

Simple.

If, in the course of an investigation it is found that your kid or other family member got ahold of a gun which he then used to commit a crime with, you get charged as an accessory to whatever crime he is charged with.

A minor child should not be authorized to have access to a parent's guns.

I think there are laws like that but they are not enforced.

If we had a trench coat ban ... and instituted school uniform policies, this may have been avoided.

There "has to be a line"? :dunno:

Because you say so? I know plenty of people who own AR-15s. They might not appreciate your cavalier attitude regarding their legal property.

Wouldn't really matter since they would be grandfathered in.

Thus ineffective as regards current owners (and criminals).

I'm not surrendering my rights. if you don't want a particular type of firearm (or any at all), don't buy them.

Just don't try to deprive me.

If we banned government-run schools, a lot of things would be avoided. Worthwhile education wouldn't be one of them.

Well, let's try school uniforms in public schools ... before we go that far.

The shooter, who is currently in police custody, was was reportedly wearing uniform-like attire with Nazi and World War II emblems on it.

Damon Rabon, a student at Santa Fe High School was just one classroom away from where the shooting happened in the art hall during first period, he told CBS News. Rabon said the substitute teacher went out and looked and saw the shooter, who he described as a short male wearing a black trench coat carrying a backpack and armed with a sawed-off shotgun. While Rabon did not name the shooter he described him as a quiet and “weird” type of guy who stood out because he wore a trench coat every day.

Fake news, Ms. Stretch.

I posted a picture from the shooter's own Facebook page showing exactly what he had on his duster (not a "trench coat", BTW).

Here it is again.

Zero Nazi emblems. No "uniform-like attire".

It's strange that "Hollywood Life" didn't mention the hammer & sickle, though.

Good luck with that.

Well, it would save parents a lot of money, make more of a professional learning environment, stifle some of the class warfare and bullying, ... and make it easier for security personnel to identify students ... and spot things that may be out of the ordinary.

Plus the schools won't have to make a special ban on students wearing U.S. flags.

I'm sure someone as astute as yourself knows that in many - if not all - school districts where this has been tried, there is a great deal of opposition.

Guess who's at the forefront?

BTW, I don't think "professional learning" is an option in government-run schools.

Well, I'm not going to argue that point with you, lol.

I was thinking of a national law, not local. Tie it to federal funding like they do everything else.

Please consider that the DEMOCRAT-infested public school unions have too much power already.

Giving them more money (indirectly) will be counterproductive in many ways.

Public school exists to babysit the spawn of people who shouldn't have procreated, IMO.

No doubt, many have morphed into free child daycare centers ... as opposed to professional learning institutions.

I'm advocating we take away federal funding if they don't comply.

Good luck with that. Endless court cases, demonstrations...and little chance of implementation.

Then there would be anti-discrimination lawsuits by the score.

I'm not convinced that uniforms solve anything. The problem is the institution of public education, IMO.

You're already in the Illiterate Dumbfuck Club twice. No extra credit for continued ignorance.

The wonderful irony is you, an illiterate dumbfuck, are here criticizing public schools. Priceless!

 Idiot
