Hello Legion,
Remember Watergate?
The crime at the root of Watergate was an attempt at surveillance of the DNC after George McGovern seemed about to win the DEMOCRAT Party’s presidential nomination, just as the government misconduct in Russiagate was an attempt at surveillance of the Republican Party’s national campaign after Trump clinched its nomination.
In both cases, the incumbent administration regarded the opposition’s unorthodox nominee as undermining the nation’s long-standing foreign policy and therefore dangerous to the country.
McGovern renounced the DEMOCRATS’ traditional Cold War policy.
Trump expressed skepticism about George W. Bush and Obama administration policies on NATO, Mexico, Iran and Russia.
The incumbents’ qualms had some rational basis. But their attempts at surveillance were misbegotten. It’s hard to figure out what the Obama law enforcement and intelligence folks had to gain by spying.
Neither the Obama spy nor Mueller’s investigation has presented evidence of Trump collusion with Russia.
None of Mueller’s indictments points in that direction, and Trump’s foreign policy over 16 months has been far less favorable to Russia than Obama’s.
Both the Watergate wiretap and the Obama appointees’ investigator/spy infiltration were initially inspired amid fears that the upstart opposition might win.
In March 2016, it was conventional wisdom that Trump couldn’t be elected president. But his surprising and persistent strength in the Republican primaries left some doubtful, including the FBI lovebirds who instant messaged their desire for an “insurance policy” against that dreaded eventuality.
Their unease may have owed something to their knowledge of how the Obama Justice Department and FBI had fixed the Hillary Clinton emails case. Clinton wasn’t indicted.
There are two obvious differences between Watergate and the Obama administration’s infiltration. The Watergate burglars were arrested in flagrante delicto, and their wiretaps never functioned. Neither the FBI nor the CIA cooperated with the Watergate cover-up.
That’s quite a contrast with the Obama law enforcement and intelligence appointees’ promotion of Christopher Steele’s Clinton campaign-financed dodgy dossier and feeding the mainstream media’s insatiable hunger for Russia collusion stories.
Has an outgoing administration ever worked to delegitimize and dislodge its successor like this?

Oh good grief. You believe this trash? The Post is a tabloid. They are going to tweak stories for the most emotion they can squeeze out of them. Here's a great line out of that story:
"But neither the Obama informant/spy nor Robert Mueller’s investigation has presented additional evidence of Trump collusion with Russia."
Did you catch that? 'Additional?' As if the evidence already presented isn't enough to cause anyone to think there might just be some hanky panky going on there. 'Additional evidence,' indeed. ~rolling eyes~
So the big skew away from the truth here is that the story leads you to believe that President Obama ordered the FBI to do what they FBI was doing. But they don't say that in so many words. They 'let you' believe it by implying it:
"Both the Watergate wiretap and the Obama appointees’ investigator/spy infiltration were initially inspired amid fears that the upstart opposition might win."
Did you catch that one, too?
They said: "Obama appointees’ investigator/spy infiltration.'
They didn't say Obama ordered that. All Obama did was select those people for the jobs they were doing. And they all had to be approved by the Senate. This article doesn't say Obama ordered any of this, or that there is any suspicion that he did! All it does is suggest it; in a most deceptive way.
If the FBI thinks there is a crime going on, the FBI is going to investigate. They don't care which party, in the administration, out of the administration, they are going to investigate it. That's what they are supposed to do. We WANT them to do that. That prevents people from harming the USA. Whether our enemies be foreign or domestic.
If you think President Obama is going to be swept up in an investigation similar to Watergate, dream on. Very creative, I must say, but absolutely not going to happen in a million years. That sounds like desperation, over trying so hard to believe that Trump is not the one at the center of a huge Watergate-sized scandal and investigation.
The lesson to be learned from Watergate is that it took 2 years before it was all completed.
Mueller may finish up the obstruction investigation by September, (according to Giuliani) but there is no time limit on how long he could take for the full investigation. And Mueller has not made any public statements about how long the investigation will take. I don't see how anybody can put a completion estimate on something which involves an unknown amount of work.
Obama is guilty of no wrongdoing. That is a mere right wing pipe dream. It's fake news, meant to pull at your emotions and those of everyone who very strongly opposes President Obama. It's not real.
If anything, the opposite is true.
You know, millions of other people look at this whole thing and rightfully say: 'Why didn't the outgoing Obama administration do MORE to shut down the Russian collusion if they already knew about it during the summer of 2016?'
