Kennedy retiring from Supreme Court

Who says that SCOTUS needs 9 civil servants when 5 out of the 8 are conservative? They could hold up the conformation for the next 6 years....who cares, the numbers don't. :innocent:

and they wont have the consent of the people

you will lose seats in the Senate......

You're probably right, but it's gonna be more interesting than you think. The landscape is a no brainer - the GOP should pick up 5-6 seats in a year like this. But I think there is an excellent chance for a status quo (which would be a huge missed opportunity for the right), and even a small chance Dems pick up a few seats.

Can't wait.

How is gay marriage something about what they do in the bedroom? That is moronic. No one gives a shit what snowflakes do in their bedrooms. Even the most hard right doesn't give a shit.

The issue with gay marriage is that it gives the illusion that it is the same as heterosexual relationships that have the capacity to create children and gives them the same rights.

Children still come from a man and a woman. Experiments with test tube babies has already created a massive social and psychological tidal wave we are still learning about. Giving a gay couple the right to adopt because it is considered "okay" by numbnuts on the left doesn't make it "okay."

Children need a dad and a mom. Not a mom and a mom and certainly not a dad and a dad. The psychology of this is readily apparent and the danger of ignoring it too great to even comprehend.

I know it makes snowflakes everywhere feel good inside that they are part of the "rainbow"; but the societal damage is only just beginning to rear it's ugly head.

I've raised those arguments when I was trying to justify my bigotry and was asked if couples who can't have children should be denied the right to get married? What the fuck does having children have to do with marriage in the strict sense? It's a legal contract between consenting adults.

Children need supportive adults in their lives. It's wonderful when a man and woman have a child together, but it's no less wonderful when a pair of homosexuals adopt a child and provide a stable loving environment. How could it be any less meaningful except by some self-serving value judgement?

It is simple and obvious if you know what you are talking about; Marriage is a religious bond between a man and a woman. It is meant for the intent of procreating and bonding the man and the woman to their relationship and raising good healthy children. That cannot happen in a gay relationship. I have NO problem separating marriage from a Civil ceremony for Government purposes. It is done all the time in Europe.

There is nothing "bigoted" about it if you understand the definition rather than hurl it as a epithet.

Wrong; they need devoted parents that consist of a man and a woman, preferably their real parents.

Wrong; it is very different because the children grow up knowing that it is not a normal relationship that could result in a child. They become confused and angry about being different and not having what most others have.

It is particularly acute in gay relationships because they lack the bond a religious marriage brings to it. The promise in front of God and witnesses to stay together until death do they part.

Divorce has a similar impact; particularly among younger children.

It's not about religion especially in the context of marriage licenses. I guess you just want to conflate the issue. Oh well.

You don't see the difference because you haven't been exposed to how it works in Europe. You go to a magistrate for the license. It has nothing to do with marriage. You go to the church to get married.

Marriage and civil partnerships in Germany are both legal unions, but you will need to present certain documents to lawfully get married in Germany.

Out with a Mod, in with a Con.

Libs heads are exploding. At least this will make up for the retards Obama put on their.

Citizens United?

Yes, great example of individual freedom v. government regulation. I don't think Congress has any authority to regulate how much money a person can give in campaign contributions. We tried federal financing of presidential campaigns until Obama chose not to take the federal funds and limit his spending, but it didn't seem to be working that well, anyway. Limiting campaign spending just results in (not too difficult) methods to find loopholes and expensive complicated disclosure requirements.

All Citizens United did was allow contributions directly that were previously being given indirectly.

Kennedy almost always sided with individual liberty against government regulations.

Oh and we are going to make religion mandatory and force liberals to become Christians and tithe to the church. But they can pick the Church. We aren’t tyrants
