The Red Hen Reopens to Protesters and a Fully Booked Dining Room

They'll have to screen everything for as long as they're open...and they turned away former customers when they reopened...so maybe no more walk-ins...ever.
She ruined her business that evening...

What kind of sickness goes into that kind of hoping, TOP?

What horrible things have happened to you to turn you into someone that hateful?

I'm not "hoping" for anything. That's just looking at what's most likely to happen. I don't have anything personal to do with that particular situation at all....
I'm the least hateful person you'd ever want to meet, as a matter of fact. Much less hateful than the people who are "thanking you"...that's a fact....

I can only go by what I see here, TOP...and it sure sounds as though there is lots of hate going into your comments about this woman.

Do what you've got to do.

I have doubt that you would be the least hateful person I'd ever want to meet.

Isn't it amazing how our JPP liberals seem to forget the comments that were made, by many of them, over the refusal of two different bakers and the glee over the business they supposedly lost; but when it's now this, any despairing comments are obsessive and sick.

There's no hate in my comments about this woman and her situation. I'm just giving my opinion, as I do think what she did was very wrong. That being said, I'm sorry to think that you consider me even a tiny bit hateful. I'm not...

I can send you references to prove that I'm not, if you like...
And there's no doubt I'm less hateful than the people thanking you. All you have to do is read their posts...Talk about hate...

That's what I meant when I mention two different sets of rules/STANDARDs....clearly, that's problem around here...
Nothing that's surprising, though, considering....

I can’t help notice all the post you’ve written to Legion condemning him for his wishing that I contact cancer. I really appreciate your standing up to such hatefulness.

Thank you for posting this comment, Phantasmal.

I'll follow this up with an apology to TOP.

Does this mean, using JPP liberal logic, that all their comments about 2 different bakeries were hateful?

TOP...

...i suspect I have misread you.

I apologize for my previous remarks...and I hope we can move on from here.

Some of these topic tend to bring out the worst in me. I mourn for our nation under this guy...and because of the ardent supporters someone like he can still get.

Once again: SORRY.

And yet, Rana immediately seemed to imply that it was regarding something else.

Could that have been feelings of guilt??

It was sarcasm, you owe her no apology, should have written it in green, sorry to confuse you.

Oh, fuck.

Now I am just confused.

Anyway...the apology holds.

I am allowing hatred to engender hatred...and that is not good for me.

After a two-week hiatus, the Lexington, Virginia restaurant that ejected Sarah Huckabee Sanders is open once again. The Red Hen ignited a political firestorm after asking the White House Press Secretary to leave mid-meal on June 22, sparking online harassment, wild conspiracy theories, and the doxxing of its owner, and it closed its doors a few days later as the restaurant was swarmed by protesters — until reopening on Thursday night.

According to USA Today, a mixed group of protesters and hopeful customers waited outside for the Red Hen to open at 5 p.m. The former carried signs with messages like “Red Hen 2018 = 1960 Woolworth Lunch Counter,” while the latter were turned away unless they had a reservation. (A sign in the restaurant’s window explained it was fully booked.)

The Red Hen’s owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, previously told the Washington Post that she decided to ask Sanders to leave partway through her meal because she believed Sanders worked for an “inhumane and unethical” administration. The restaurant quickly became the target of harassment, a fury that was fueled by a tweet from the President himself: Wilkinson’s home address and phone number were circulated online, Twitter users urged immigration officials to investigate the restaurant for allegedly employing undocumented workers, and protesters swarmed outside.

The Red Hen incident is just one of the recent instances where Trump officials have been confronted in restaurants, either by the owners or by other diners: Homeland Security secretary Kristjen Nielsen was confronted by activists while dining at a Mexican restaurant in D.C. on June 19, while Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt had his lunch interrupted earlier this week by a woman who urged him to resign. (Pruitt resigned from his post on Thursday following numerous high-profile scandals.)

Restaurants in most areas (one major exception being Washington, D.C.) are well within their legal rights to refuse service based on political affiliation, and many — including Rep. Maxine Waters, who faced subsequent death threats — have encouraged citizens to continue making Trump officials uncomfortable.

Just saw this and the rest of the posts...
Thanks...all is well;)

Damn place still cannot make decent seafood. I say burn it down.

LOL
I saw some photos of their meals. Looks like nouveau cuisine type servings, very small. Scallop entree had 2 scallops. I'd rather cook my own. For tilapia I dip the fillets in milk, roll'm in seasoned mashed potato flakes, pan fry them. Swordfish steaks I broil'm for 3 minutes on 1 side, pull'm out, change the oven to bake as high as it will go, turn'm over, finish by baking them 3 minutes and covering them in warmed garlic/butter/lemon sauce. For salmon I just pouch it, drain off the water and cover it with a brown sugar/maple syrup sauce until it forms a slight crust around the edges. Yummo!!!!:)
