-You'll notice the recognition of private land and the fact that the poor and foreigner must work for the leftover harvest. Not communism.

The ten commandments state "Thou shalt not steal." - Communism is government sanctioned theft.
The ten commandments also state "Thou shalt not covet." -A communist state can only exist when the people covet the posessions of others.

As far as I know not even mainline Christian Churches in the US would be considered conservative by todays Republican party. Maybe you better recount. The Repubs don't even like the Pope.

The Pope is terrible. Always has been. Every Pope. It is not the responsibility of one man to interpret the word of God for the masses. He's a man. As fallible as any other. The Pope is a relic from a time when religion was used to enrich the wealthy. When they did not allow the lower classes to read the bible. When the church was separated between rich and poor.

The quotes from Matthew and Luke are closer in spirit to communism than to American conservatism by orders of magnitude.
