2nd Amendment right to carry openly in public affirmed

If it's unloaded, there's no point in carrying it.

Before I could get my CCP, I used to walk through town to the dump to shoot rats. I used a S&W K-.38. The cop would drive past me and wave.
I believe the days when a 16 yr. old can walk down the street with any firearm are history.
But to address your quote, at this point, I would agree. Concealed carry (loaded) is the only way to go anymore.

More willful retards that don't really know liberals. When was the 2nd amendment on the table anyway? Seems this is just worthless blather trying to reaffirm egos.

Liberals are largely responsible for writing the 2nd Amendment. It's leftists that want to get rid of it. :cof1:

As was true of many of the past decisions that SCOTUS relied upon to allow restrictions on the right to bear arms. Despite the crystal clear "shall not be infringed" wording of the amendment.

I assume that means we cannot prohibit the mentally ill, violent felons, or children from purchasing weapons?

Does that also mean the constitutional provision that Congress shall make "no law" restricting free speech or press mean we cannot regulate libel, slander, pornography, child pornography, threats, obscenity..?

If I allow you to own one shotgun, for example, have I infringed on your right to "keep and bear arms" since you have a weapon? This is not something I am proposing, just trying to clarity your constitutional interpretation.

Regarding the First Amendment, it was assumed that such restrictions would be handled by state and municipal governments. Especially given that the Barron decision ruled that the Bill of Rights didn't apply to the states. The Constitution did grant the federal government the power to protect patents and copyrights due to their role in commerce.

As to the Second, people incapable of taking responsibility for their actions (like minors and the mentally ill) probably don't comprise the common militia. Depending upon age and functionality, one might grant a firearm for limited purposes that lacks the amendment's absolute protection.

Except that the actual wordage was "keep and bear". "keep" took it out of the strictly military context.

“Bear” kept it in. Your can’t “bear” arms unless you “keep” them. It doesn’t say keep OR bear arms, dies it? Can’t seaparate them.

Next.
