I am a very civilized and well educated person.. Why shouldn't I be pleasant?

Americans who live in Arabia learn courtesy.. The Saudis are conservative and courteous.

It goes with the territory. Americans living abroad should know that they represent their country.. regardless of the country they are visiting.. You may be the only American they ever meet or talk with.

ARAMCO was pretty small back then.. actually until the late 1970s and most of us were out of camp several times a week so we got to interact with Saudis.. and a lot of Saudis and Palestinians worked in camp although they didn't live there.

I always heard that was where the heavy coin was to be made. After 18 months, it was tax free.
