Free state ID's are available to anyone. It's easy. Every citizen should have some form of ID. It's disingenuous to believe that a person receiving any benefits such as S.S., S.S.I., EBT, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. where proper SS# and verified address and ID are necessary, somehow wouldn't have and use that very same ID in order to vote.

I live in a deep blue state, and I don't see any of it either way, in fact, we get few in comparison political ads, flyers, or robo calls. If you visited before the election in some areas you probably wouldn't even know there was an election approaching. The flip side is that we have umpteen parties on the ballot, you have plenty of party lines to vote on, you wouldn't even believe some of them, lot of wackos running

You keep saying they are easy, but not for all people, and again it isn't "some form of ID," but an official State issued Voter ID

Voter ID fraud is almost a nonexistent,, but how would it actually be a crisis if it did occur? To make it effective, you would have to fraudulently register large numbers of people and then make sure they show up on election day. Possible, but it would be too cumbersome not to be noticed at that time of registration

I really envy you people that live in states that are not gerrymandered! What a privilege it must be to have your vote actually count!

They can make it out of the house to cast their provisional vote........then they can make it out of the house to get a state ID.

Also, on all DCF applications for welfare, Medicaid and EBT include a box to check off where they ask, "Would you like to register to vote?"

Noooooooooooooo. I've been voting here for the last 45 years. Polling stations never ONCE have asked to see my voter ID. All they want to see is my ID...which in my case would be my FL drivers license.

In fact, right on the top of my voter registration card is printed, "Voter Information Card (Not Valid ID)".
Then it proceeds to give me my polling station address, precinct #, Party Affiliation, municipality and all my district #'s I can vote on.

But why if none of it is necessary? It doesn't make sense, you are potentially disenfranchising voters over nothing, there isn't a problem, it is just harassment aimed at discouraging voters. And that provisional vote isn't as easy as you assume in all voting districts

Alright, you are talking about your individual State, don't need one where I live either, but that isn't the argument, some States are now requiring a State issued Voter ID card to vote
