Trump pulls out of Syria

Well, as I said, if I was a right wing conspiracy theorists I might suggest that US removing troops doesn't do well for the Kurdish forces in Northern Syria. As I noted, "perhaps a message is being sent to the Turkish Gov't who might know more about financial activities than some might want to keep hidden," especially now that they know some of the oligarchs are facing Mueller and a talking witness in Flynn

Been on the table for a long time, actually years, but since everyone including the State Dept was surprised by Trump's sudden announcement they didn't even know it was being serious considered
not "years" we had to defeat ISIS.

I can't even follow the rest of that

sure they are beaten.
They are unable to hold ground -even Raqqa. The have been reduced to what they started from- an insurgency.

Why do we need troops in northeastern Syria and northwestern Iraq to combat an insurgency?

lets be clear, you are far from a military expert and far from true knowledge on this situation. Trump has zero military experience, yet our military experts felt it is imperative that we remain in Syria. I will believe them well before you or trump.

Just curious, did you feel the same way about our military and Obama's decisions?

Nope. 10,000 of them have moved into Afghanistan.. others are in Western Libya and 2500 are still in Syria and all charged up over Trump pulling out.

Remember when Bush landed on the aircraft carrier and declare "Mission Accomplished" in May 2003?

I just knew you were going to bring that up, so lets review. Obamas decision as you call it was actually Bush's decision which took place before Obama was elected. It was Bush who set the time frame for withdrawal. Then Obama wanted to keep the troops longer, but could not negotiate the proper terms with Iraq. Please get you story straight.

what are 2000 troops in Syria going to do about AfPak's ISIS? and many of those are not just from the ME -
they are native to Afghanistan ( somehow managing to co-exist with Zawahiri / "AQ core")

I'm well aware of Libya.
the reason they are there ( desert south as well) is we destroyed that state when we regime changed Qadafi

so again..what does keeping 2000 troops in Syria have to do with ISIS in AfPak or Libya?

Since when did we regime change Qadaffi? It was a popular uprising of the people.

No. It was Obama's decision. Who has as much military experience as Trump. Against his military advisors advice. And you know that. You just could have told the truth and said you are a partisan hack. It would have saved time and effort.

They were partnering with a couple of other groups in Syria. ISIS is made up of fanatics... fighting for the end times. They aren't done.

From your own linked article " But he had already announced this earlier this year, and the real significance today was in the failure of Obama, in spite of the cost to the US in dollars and deaths, to persuade the Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki to allow one or more American bases to be kept in the country." Thanks for playing.

I think Trump is making a mistake. I think there will be a resurgence of ISIS and we won't be able to go back in with any partners.

Thanks for posting policy.. Maybe Trump just wants a headline.

If the Shia's complete their Plan of the Shia Crescent from Iran, across Iraq and Syria, to Lebanon, there won't be any Sunni Fundamentalists there.

Thats it kiddo, you confirmed that Obama wanted to keep troops in Iraq after the Bush withdrawal date. However this isn't about Obama but another trump fuck up. The worst part is that no matter what he does, you will defend him. I am sure by now you even have a defense for his failure to fund his wall, and the cowardly way he quit.

Maliki spent most of his life in Iran.. He was a terrible choice.. and an Iranian stooge who antagonized the men who became ISIS.

Syria and Beirut, Lebanon have Sunni majorities. What happens to them?
