The people who want illegal immigration, obviously, are capitalists, because illegal settlers will be prepared to work for little and undercut native wages, to the advantage of employers. It has always been so, everywhere. The other thing the capitalists want is to identify this immigration with someone else, so that they can use it to get the mugs to vote for their continued exploitation.
