Pretty funny, an opinion piece written in a foreign vehicle published before the details of the TPP were even released now proves that TPP was a "stupid idea," and "fogcatcher" really did post that
Why think? Putting demands on the prize is very different than any tax policy Republicans have passed throughout history. So yes...being forced to heel in exchange for tax consideration influences behavior, but only if the alternative is higher taxes. Are you saying lower taxes influence behavior in a positive way?
Think before you answer
Did I say they didn’t?
I think there are certain foods and services that are if a national security interest that makes sense to keep American
It's a little more complex than that. I believe there was TPA, which was supposed to protect American workers from any trade deals. She was in favor of that, as part of TPP when she was Sec. State. That also would have given Obama fast track authority, with Congress only voting Yea/Nay, with no amendments.she was all for it, but then she saw the popularity of being against it and mouthed the right words. too little, too late.
It's a great big world. Wall St. demands globalism. We really cannot exist without trade policies. Of course, most of our trade policies entailed us giving away the farm in exchange for permission to build strategic military bases near 'our' oil.I never thought I would see an anti globalist president...yet here we are.
globalists are amazingly brainwashed. they just need to be slapped hard.

Times have changed now that we choose to destroy our own environment, so our trade policies seem out of sorts when they stand alone.

Sure...on the campaign trail she found her way to realizing that Congress should have the right to read/amend the bill.
As designed, it would have come to an up or down vote in Congress. You think it would have made its way to POTUS?Clinton would have signed it, I'd even wager she would have worked to get it approved, as I noted earlier, she supported it till it polled bad, she was a pure politician, although a bad one
Few here even understand trade, or the complexities involved, let alone what Trump is attempting.
And Trump is going to come up, it is his trade policy
On that we agree. You really think W.S will allow that?yes. good trade policies. and fuck wall street.
On that we agree. You really think W.S will allow that?
No we aren't. Everyone got a tax holiday, and many pay no taxes despite billions in profits. There's no incentive to repatriate labor. In fact, overseas money was allowed back in at a fraction of normal taxation. No jobs, and no raises. You really think it's THAT SIMPLE????!!!
We are already doing that.
.
That's great in theory, but they own Washington.fuck em.
That's great in theory, but they own Washington.
After MULTIPLE requests to hear the JPP Left's Big Deal With China Plan, that is SO MUCH BETTER THAN PRES. TRUMP's , it seems all they can really do is BITCH, PISS, and MOAN.
Once again: What's the BIG JPP LEFT PLAN to confront and end China's trade cheating, theft, and overall BULLSHIT...?
LET's HEAR IT, ECONO-GENIUSES OF THE LEFT....
the days of monopoly manufacturing are gone, but not manufacturing in the USA. There is no reason not to be competitive. Trump has added 480k manufacturing jobsAlthea and Guno are stuck in a time warp. The world has passed you two folks by. The days of manufacturing in the U.S. like it's the 1940's or 1950's are long gone. And it's understandable Boomers don't get today's technology as it's not something you had to deal with growing up and in the prime of your careers. Not to mention a good amount of manufacturing has left China and gone to places like Vietnam and Mexico.
