It's relevant when you mention legislation they wouldn't signed. But it's even more relevant when discussing how we should address China. Not every Democrat and not every Republican thinks the same way when it comes to China. Much of the discussion on the topic is just people complaining about Trump. Not very much about people saying how they think we should handle the issue. I want to hear other ideas.

Clinton would have signed it, I'd even wager she would have worked to get it approved, as I noted earlier, she supported it till it polled bad, she was a pure politician, although a bad one

Few here even understand trade, or the complexities involved, let alone what Trump is attempting.

And Trump is going to come up, it is his trade policy

We are already doing that.

"Tax incentives" will not cause that to happen. There has to be REAL POTENTIAL PROFITABILTY...which will never be allowed where unions operate, for example.



Re-establishing $BILLIONS in manufacturing will cost more than the tariffs EVER WOULD...especially if you are relying on "tax incentives" to "fund it".



Trump has done more to return the manufacturing sector of the US than either of the last two POTUS', especially Pres."New Normal"...



FUCK 'EM...let's see how long China can hang....out economy is the strongest it has been in decades...we are prepared to do this, far better than is China.

It isn’t complex. Either you support free trade or you don’t. If you do you don’t need an agreement. You just allow goods to flow freely

Free trade agreements are nothing more than corporate welfare for rent seekers

"Detail," no, got tired of explaining it to you Trumpkins at the time, here, do it on your own (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Pacific_Partnership), but briefly, it would have established the US as a major player in the Far East, while encircling China's neighbors in a trade agreement that excluded China, meaning if China had any ambitions of joining it they would have to conform to the rules and regulations established in the treaty

Not that simple, it isn't a question of having a deal or not having a deal, free trade doesn't mean there aren't any restrictions between trading partners

Perhaps, but they can get those revenues elsewhere, haven't you been paying attention, since Trump has alienated even some of our traditional political and economic allies, China has gained inroads all over the world
