The rise of political correctness can be seen across movie screens this weekend.

“The Hustle,” a gender-swap remake of 1988's “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” rails against the patriarchy between sight gags. “Avengers: Endgame” shoehorns a minor gay character into the story as a super-virtue-signal. “Long Shot” shows Seth Rogen apologizing for the United States bombing Japan to help end World War II.

Even older films, and the stars who made them great, are now seen through the PC prism. Just ask the estate of John Wayne. The legendary star got pummeled a few months ago, decades after his passing, for a racially insensitive Playboy interview in 1971. Some critics demanded that his name be stripped from John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Calif.

Could you imagine trying to make "Blazing Saddles", or "Airplane" in today's perpetual-burr-up-the-ass PC nightmare world?
 
Even though I don't often agree, it was one of the things that screwed up the new Star Wars movies.

LOL! John Wayne was racist to his core. A draft dodger, an alcoholic, a drug abuser and a wife beater, among other things.

Factually describing him as such isn't PC. It's reality. Something that whore like you fear.

Yeah...two of the most hilarious movies ever...from back when racism was SO OVER, we joked about how silly it was, and laughed AT and WITH each other, regardless of race, etc.

Then...the RACE PIMPS resurrected "RACISM" as a fundraiser in the late 80's-early 90s...and we'll never be rid of it now...we ALMOST GOT THERE in the 70's with a few pockets still behind here and there...but overall...it was DONE.

Shows like Amos and Andy, movies like Song of the South and any thing that depicted the factual history of those times are now censored by Hollywood.

What exactly is wrong about any of this? Are you in favor of the patriarchy? Should movies not have gay characters? Was unnecessarily bombing Japan twice a good thing?

The first bombing did not cause the Japanese to capitulate. The second did.

An estimated 100K American soldiers' lives in a land invasion of Japan were saved by these two bombs.

No, Turner Classic will still be around, and John Wayne only made probably three good movies, so he won't be missed
