I don't mind references or analogies, etc. I just don't like preachy stuff. Like on "Law and Order" series about sex crimes. They have to stop in the middle of a discussion of the case to scoff and mention how detestable the rapist/molester is. We all know they are terrible people--they don't need to tell us every show.
 
My wife is a huge fan of John Hughs' 80s classics like Sixteen Candles. That film has got some serious MeToo issues, along with its racial stereotypes.

There's a plethora of YouTube videos whining about this topic. One big thing seems to be that everyone considers Rose from The Last Jedi to be an utterly pointless character who serves no purpose except intersectionality and PC. Since I hate The Force Awakens infinitely more than I could ever hate TLJ, I haven't really been able to empathize with a lot of the complaints from these videos.
 
Bottom line, movies, Hollywood, is out to make a buck, and they aren't going to let "PC" or whatever you call it stand in their way. If they think it will sell, they will make it, regardless.

And if you want to see a John Wayne film, you can easily access a John Wayne film, although it is beyond me why anyone would, love the sun setting in the East at the end of his "Green Berets" comedy

Because of complaints from some of the newspapers that syndicated the Beatle Baily comic, the writer had to send General Halftrack to sensitivity training because he often oogled Ms Buxley when she bent over the filing cabinet. Popeye was not pc because Olive Oil was always being saved by a man.
