Actually, the war was all but won before the first bomb was dropped. Nazi Germany had already surrendered and Japan was barely standing. The atom bombs were totally unnecessary.

Depends upon how one views it, surely the Allies would have won a continuation of hostilities without the bomb, but Japan was not going to surrender, estimates at the time believed they could have held on for another nine months to a year, meaning more Allies would have been killed and probably the total destruction of nearly all of Japan by air bombardment

The Japanese might not admit it today, but the Japanese of the time had already accepted the war was over. There was no way Japan was holding out much longer without the Germans against America, the British Empire, and the Soviet Union.

No, I don't see anti-patriarchy messages or gay characters as being bad for movies. But apparently some edgy people here have decided this PC business is destroying movies.

PC is not only destroying movies, it is destroying society. We are all different. Was not that long ago people could point out those differences and laugh about them. People got along a lot better.

I don't want my entertainment media (especially comedies) to preach to me about their politics. If it is designed to be political satire then I am aware of its content.
 
Political correctness kills everything, frankly. I can't think of one industry that hasn't been reduced to mediocrity by the thought and speech policing of the politically correct.

Every generation has PC culture. People being uptight over jokes is hardly anything new.
But the things the OP is complaining about don't seem to be all that bad. Maybe he's one of these Status Quo Warriors who gets triggered over veganism and trans people.

Then your issue has nothing to do with the current age. Comedies have always touched upon politics and philosophy, often without advertising it.
