Maine votes out electoral college

it does......every state gets one electoral vote for every 680,000 people........and every state gets two electoral votes......can't get any more equal than that.......

That does not apply to the smallest states. WY and VT don't even have 680,000 people and they still get 3 electoral votes.

No, it prevents the loons in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City from imposing their will on the rest of the country.

So instead, the racist white people can impose their will and religion people in CA and NY?

What kind of will has been imposed on the people of California by the rest of the country by “racist white people?” What laws have been passed carte that limit the freedoms of the people of California? From where I sit you’ve got that terribly backwards.

[COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.952941)][FONT=&quot]At the Philadelphia convention, the visionary Pennsylvanian James Wilson proposed direct national election of the president. But the savvy Virginian James Madison responded that such a system would prove unacceptable to the South: “The right of suffrage was much more diffusive [i.e., extensive] in the Northern than the Southern States; and the latter could have no influence in the election on the score of Negroes.” In other words, in a direct election system, the North would outnumber the South, whose many slaves (more than half a million in all) of course could not vote.

Having lived in California for 35 years now I can say I am unaware of any religion being forced on me or anyone else in the state by the federal government. However it's possible I've missed something.

The real tragedy here is that the federal government, particularly the President, has so much power that people treat this, and each election as if it's a matter of life and death.

Just about every racist law in this entire country was initiated by racist white MEN in the federal government.

This country was built on racism...white men lead this country since they stole if from the Native Americans.

I won't play your game by pinpointing 1 thing, it's EVERYTHING!
