Spike Lee calls for Hollywood to ‘shut it down’ in Georgia

I have. And I found that it was doing well until America got involved and Venezuelan Capitalists started sabotaging their own country. If anything, there was too little regulation when dealing with the Capitalists.

How about linking to your sources for this rather wrong information.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Director Spike Lee is calling for Hollywood production companies to leave Georgia over a law that would ban abortions as early as six weeks, upon detection of a fetal heartbeat.

Most studios that have commented have said they’re waiting to see if the so-called “heartbeat” law actually takes effect next year, or if the courts will block it. But at the arrivals line for Denzel Washington’s American Film Institute lifetime achievement tribute Thursday, Lee said now is the time for Georgia-based productions to “shut it down” and boycott the state’s booming film industry to drive change.

Lee acknowledged that a mass exodus could dent livelihoods, but cited black bus drivers affected by the Civil Rights Movement-era boycott in Montgomery. “I know it’s going to affect people’s livelihood. But that’s how things change,” Lee said. “You’ve got to be on the right side of history, and the state of Georgia and those other states, they’re wrong,” he added.

we need to boycott every single fucking thing Spike Lee is associated with for being a politically charged asshole.

Speak for yourself. Plenty of people do very well in a capitalist society. Society itself does well in a capitalist society. Take America for example. What do you think pays for every single social program and safety net in this country? Capitalism.

Exactly. You can't have socialism without capitalism to pay for it all.

Far be it for me to stand up for millennial's, and I won't, but they have seen some f'd up economic situations in their lifetimes. From the great recession (caused by the Fed but blamed on capitalism) and Bush and Paulson bailing out the big banks to Obama and his anti-business rhetoric and regulation producing the worst recovery since the Great Depression. Then we had Trump and pro-growth policies for two years and now he's turned his back on that in the name of economic nationalism, it's not surprising some ask questions.

What's unfortunate is they think the answer is to turn to socialism. We don't have anyone on the national stage, that people will listen to, giving full throated support for capitalism which is what we need.

I'm 46. I came up during the Reagan era. I remember the capitalism vs communism debates and how that shaped me. Very few have ever spoken about capitalism like Reagan did. There's a reason he's referred to as the great communicator. We haven't had anyone close to him since.

Socialism and free everything sounds so tempting on the surface. It's why so many young people gravitate to it. We as adults aren't doing our job selling the virtues of capitalism.

Trump is capitalism squared! :awesome:

 I gave you two reliable links that America sanctioned Venezuela. What more do you want? Me to send Obama to your house to admit it personally?

You should be crying. And doing yourself a favor and getting out of Podunk Univ. Have your read your own links? Any fucking idea why sanctions were imposed on the socialist "Nirvana" of Venezuela? You dumb fuck? Look, the world needs ditch diggers also. You are just wasting your time if you are really in college.

Sorry I triggered you so badly, fam.

With all due respect what we have going on right now isn't free market capitalism. Between tariffs, trade wars, government bailout of farmers, the disrupting of supply chains and favoring industries isn't free market capitalism. There is more than just that as well. Trump is a big government protectionist.

You are free to support Trump, to each his own who they support, but let's not redefine what free market capitalism is. And what we are seeing right now is not it.

There is nothing you could do to trigger me Junior. You just do not have the qualifications. Why were those sanctions imposed? Did you even get to read that far.

The real reason is because America wants to exploit Venezuela for oil, drive more immigrants to America, and insure that a Socialist country doesn't succeed.
The bullshit reason is because our government is just so humanitarian, that they wanted to do something about alleged human rights violations. Oh, but don't worry about Israel or Saudi Arabia, they're the good guys, like us.
