I think they're trying to imply that people excuse Trump's behavior by ignoring it and then shifting focus over to the behavior of somebody else...

In the case of this thread, though, the best response is "he never mentioned race". No excuses are necessary since he never even made racist comments to begin with.

You ask "what racism"? They can't point to it...
You ask for a definition of racism? They can't provide it...

He brought up Liberals in order to defend Trump. He was doing #whataboutism.

Here's a fun game to play. When a Conservative is forced to defend Trump or conservative policies, see how long it takes before they bring up a Democrat or use the following words: Liberal, Leftist, Progressive, Socialist, Communist, Democrat.
It's usually about five words into the first sentence.
