Tracking TS Dorian

Figured it's time to start a Dorian thread for fellow storm chasers and enthusiasts.

Still a TS and should become a hurricane late Friday.
From looking at my ICON system my belief is
that Hurricane Dorian will skirt the east coast of
central FL (by noon Sun. 9/1), head NNE to GA and SC;
then come very close to the Cape Hatteras
area (sustained winds 80>100mph / gusts 100>120mph),
but the steering currents I see now for next week
should then be sending her off to the NE by 8am Wed. 9/4.
At this point I do not see the eye actually coming ashore
anywhere and moving inland.

Thanks for the info and the fun pics of the cats.

Praise Jesus it's NOT heading towards NOLA.
Course, the last one just jumped across Florida and came here and kicked our asses.

"Hurricane Katrina was a Category 5 hurricane that made landfall on Florida and Louisiana in August 2005, causing catastrophic damage; particularly in the city of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Wikipedia"

August 28, 2005. Mmmmmm ... Bad JuJu!

Nope now it looks like it may become a 2 and hit the East coast of Florida. Somewhere....lol

Pretty casual attitude for someone who lives so close to that coast.

If it makes landfall on or near Jax Beach, you might not be lol'ing come Monday morning.

I know I won't be if it comes ashore between Daytona and Ft Pierce.

I'm not even lol'ing right now.

If anyone would know all about that kind of thing it would be you, an expert on the subject.

Democrats hero worship trannies, ... so I guess that is supposed to be a compliment coming from you. :palm:

I'm 20-30 miles inland. As it moves over land, it weakens.

I live here and have for 67 years. We don't need fearmongering...just discussion, preparedness, a sense of humor,
common sense and enjoying a common bond with others who may live in a potentially affected area.

Looks like it'll get here to Atlanta right after DragonCon...so all the nerds won't need to waterproof their cosplays.

Dorian looks like she'll brush across the NE corner of PR around
midnight tonight with waves 10-13ft and swells 6-7ft. from the SE.
Barometric pressure is high around 1010mb at midnight, so it's still pretty weak.
Sustained winds for PR should be 40mph, not much gusting.
Most all the precip is on the eastern side of the storm so accumulation should be maybe 2 inches.
