Tracking TS Dorian

Praise Jesus it's NOT heading towards NOLA.
Course, the last one just jumped across Florida and came here and kicked our asses.

"Hurricane Katrina was a Category 5 hurricane that made landfall on Florida and Louisiana in August 2005, causing catastrophic damage; particularly in the city of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Wikipedia"

August 28, 2005. Mmmmmm ... Bad JuJu!

You're OK. I see no currents at this time that would cause such a dramatic shift in direction and
there are no reputable spaghetti models showing that either.

Uh yeah. We were in the clear with Katrina too. I have now adopted an attitude of "Oh Fuck! We're all gonna' DIE!" ... and if it's anything less than that ... that's a Win!
(and talking of dying, ... have the Hurricane Parties started yet?)

He’s taken money from the response fund, it’s my hope this isn’t a big storm.

I keep wondering how long Congress is going to open the pocketbook for Trump’s idiocy...

Yes, steering current CAN change. Forecasts for Dorian are good for what we see NOW.
Of course there CAN be a change this far out. We just have to be prepared & stocked up just
as we ALWAYS do every year. If you think your levies are still not up to the task, then you
should consider leaving the area. But, I don't see Dorian changing path by 550 miles.

Landed as a Cat 3. The catastrophic floods and damage to N.O.
was from busted levies.

They're drama queens alright. Remember this guy? Faking the wind? He's also actually stupid enough
to act like he's pushing AGAINST the wind...look at the plants...the wind is coming from BEHIND him!!!!! :palm:
Then those guys go walking by behind him like it's a walk in the park!!!!
BIG LEAGUE CLASSIC FAIL!!!!! :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Seeing less push from the N now by Sun. 9/1, 11pm allowing Dorian Cat 1 or 2 to move in between Palm Coast & Titusville.
with winds decreasing quickly on shore.
Heavy rain from Daytona>Jacksonville>Brunswick,GA coast till Tues. 9/3, 11am.

Should note that the Cat 1 and 2 winds are visibly on the east side of the storm over the ocean.
The onshore winds are basically cut in half!

Jack & Family rode out Katrina. Other than missing corner of House, wouldn't have missed it for the World. :)

Water began pouring in at Master Closet. Me and Son #5 went into attic and patched hole with whatever we could lay out hands on, plywood, sheetrock, boards, rags, blankets. Wife screams up "No more water". Team Jack returns as Heroes. As we lay there in the Hallway with a mattress over us, I reassure Wife that there is nothing to worry about. "This is the House that Jack built, remember". About that time the Eye of the Storm passed over us, as though God had heard Jack's Words and confirmed what Jack had told his wife. "See", I said.
About 5 minutes later the wind picks up again. Mmmmm ... maybe 10 minutes later she begins freaking out about 'more water coming into the Master Closet' and ruining all the clothes that she got On Sale at the Goodwill. Jack and #5 Son again dash upstairs to the Attic, "Holy Fuck! Where did everything go?" -->Tip of the Day: The wind blows one way when it comes at you, you enter the Eye and it is calm, then ... the wind blows the OTHER way as it leaves you.<--- Once the wind shifted, all our 'Construction Techniques' blew away and we had to start all over again. :(

I have a 500 gallon underground Propane Tank, so even though there was no electricity, Jack & Family were able to cook bacon and eggs the next day and sit on the Porch drinking coffee (I have an old time Percolator) surveying what looked like WW3 ... and what Life is like in the 14th Century. :)

Yep, it's always the back half that gets ya. Had a bad experience with that with Jeanne while living in Port St. Lucie on the water.
I was in the tub covered with a mattress and heard windows exploding in the bedroom and kitchen. What a mess.
While it was still howling I decided immediately I was no longer safe inside. I ran outside with my phone & 2 big pillows and dived into the back seat of
my car which I had pulled snugly up against the back of the leeward side of the house prior to the start of the storm. Spent the next 2 hours covered
with the pillows and felt much safer. That's life in the Plywood State!

:) 'Plywood State' ... funny. When I'm outside, I always worry about a Stop Sign or part of a Metal Roof whizzing by and decapitating me.
If I lived on (or even near) the water, I would NEVER STAY!

It's never the storm that frightens me away..........it's that I know it's mid summer and
there will be no a.c. for a few weeks!!!!!! UGH!

So, anyway back ro Dorian.
Yes, it's a hurricane right now, but the winds coming
onshore later in the NE corner of the island of PR are only
TS strength 40>50mph. Good for them! :good4u:
