Tracking TS Dorian

Sounds like a plan. If Dorian crosses over mid way she'll go right over you probably as a Cat 2,
much like Irma's strength 2 years ago. Hopefully the hotel will keep its power.

I'll use this post to try and explain what's going on here...why the wait till late Saturday/early Sunday?..............

There's high pressure to the NE rotating clockwise above Dorian
which may prevent it from a storm's preferred course to the N
and would force her to the W across mid FL.

We've just got to wait and see if that steering system
hopefully weakens...or not. If it weakens and Dorian stays just
strong enough, she'll keep plowing N according to the course
I posted earlier according to the conditions at that time.

So, when we watch the weather reports over the next few days,
cross your fingers that the high pressure system to the N weakens!
:whoa:

Thank you for telling every Floridian what we've all known for years. :palm:

Funny how you didn't mention the high pressure system until after I did.

Then groaned the post I mentioned it in before posting about it yourself.

I'm watching the steering current spinning near Dorian projected for Sunday. The only time I
see a chance of some interference to its movement W comes around 5pm. The current
seems to dissolve/split in the Gulf which would sort of release the hold it has on Dorian
allowing her to turn N when the high pressure area lifts.
Hopefully the hp area will start off already way up by NY instead of down by VA. We'll see.
Fingers still crossed.

groaned you for your mean attitude.
I went through Frances & Jeanne as well when I lived at ground zero in Port St. Lucie.
not everyone reading this thread lives in hurricane country.
sumpthin' seriously wrong with you. good night.

At least we can all be happy that Trump confiscated 155 million of FEMA's budget for abusing immigrants. Gotta torture more brown people.

GFS and Euro models are getting closer to lining up. Looking like Titusville may be the landing point, right now, but it can change at any moment.

Category 4. Bad News.
People here get tired of packing up and leaving. Then, come to find out the Storm hit 50 miles away and they should have stayed.
Course, when they decide to stay, that's when they get hit.
Can't win.

The latest (11 am) updated track has the center of the cone further south, down around Fort Pierce or a little below.

I’m hunkering down here in the PBC!

I'll be doing my hunkering up here in the OC.

I've only left once and that was for Floyd in 1999. A 3 hr trip took 10. Didn't even come near here either.

I have family in Boca, Vero, Gainesville, and friends in Jacksonville. They are all loading up, shuttering up and gassing up.

None are evacuating, yet.
