In that case, then Democratic Socialism is a form of Capitalism. When people like Bernie Sanders say they want Democratic Socialism, they mean they want us to be more like Scandinavia, which he's explained many times. You can say that's Capitalism, but that's just semantics.

Except, as with all authoritarians, they only like democracy when it achieves their desired ends.

For example, they would institute draconian Climate Change policy—if they could just figure out some way to get around the voters. Guns are another example: if there was some way to get SCOTUS to mandate their extremism on guns the lefties would do it in a minute.

They know it, we know it.

Norway's form of capitalism is much more normal. The rich can only get away with 'pure' capitalism in police states or places which offer the mugs a convincing illusion that they too can become rich - which requires an awful lot of expensive brainwashing.

And even in those places, the government and big business are usually in bed together, which is increasingly becoming the case in America. This is part of why Capitalists are so susceptible to Fascism.

Except we can’t be Scandinavia lol.

Scandinavia won’t be Scandinavia much longer if they don’t control their immigration. But what is Scandinavia’s defense budget? How many air bases do they have in foreign countries? Are they a large country with a multiplicity of social issues? Is their infrastructure anywhere near the size of ours?
