Your Senators have a say in witnesses so ask them. The same witnesses that got your honey pot all wet when you guaranteed they wouldn't be called.

If the Senate votes to allow witnesses it will just encourage similar behavior from future Houses.

I advocate allowing no witnesses and voting on the articles as they *were voted on by the House*. This would discourage future Houses from sending half-baked articles of impeachment to be tried by the Senate.

IOW, the sanctity of the impeachment process is at stake. If they vote to allow witnesses, the next impeachment won’t be 20-30 years from now—and you can take that to the bank.

Never ending, changing Articles are not what the Founding Fathers envisioned.

The Senate will act to preserve the Constitutional limits of endless impeachment.

The electorate, except the howling fanatics on the left, are bone weary of this abomination.

But if witnesses are called, Roberts may very well exercise the power to allow or disallow...with the Senate then able to over-rule him.

If Roberts is going to disallow the Biden or the WB—he has to justify his reasoning. Or more likely he would want to hear arguments for and against it. Or if he wants to disallow them on sheer fiat—that gives every republican a good reason to vote for acquittal.

I just wrote several paragraphs in favor of hearing from them. It’s pretty much a slam dunk, actually. Which takes us back to the OP point and the ‘witness dilemma’ for Democrats.

What do you know of how the electorate feels, I do know that desperation has set in and you will do anything and everything possible to keep witnesses from testifying. Now if Trump was truly innocent you would love to have witnesses testify in his behalf.

Executive Privilege will be preserved whether you like it or not and the results of this sham impeachment which was started by the sulking Democrats in Nov., 2016, were well known, and will be the total exoneration of the president and political retribution of Biblical proportions in Nov., 2020.

If they had nothing to fear from putting Biden/WB/Schiff under oath, the proper response would be ‘fine, whatever, let’s just do this’ but they are making noise about it instead.
